  • 2cats, it WILL happen. please know that we are sooooo gutted. I realise that doesn't help your situation though. Is there any way you can take your mind off things? phone a friend or something?

Any chance you could you glance over your form and tell us if the bar code is the same as here?

If it is, I'm not going to bother hanging around any more.
    TIA

    Hi Sloughflint,

I can't see any download there - it says no free download slots available  am I doing something wrong?

The one I have has BAR2-2717892 underneath the bar code and 013922 beside it. I'd imagine it's a barcode for the form rather than anything unique to an individual - can't see them being so sophisticated as to have personalised the barcode for me!

HTH (will have a try again a little later in case I manage then)

LOL I kept it pretty quiet as I felt a bit stupid TBH. The only friend who knows is laid up with a jiggered back, so I think she has enough on her plate!

I've had a glass of pinot grigio (would normally drink homemade, but since I am supplying the white for Christmas I have to sample what I'm proposing to supply, so I know it's ok!) and am feeling resigned now. Could have been a whole lot worse, but I do feel rather like the only kid not invited to the party! Never mind, will have my own party here - cheers!

BTW before you all leave me, I will post on here when my money eventually comes home, just so that I get a bit of closure on the whole sorry saga.

Thanks for your company over the last couple of weeks - you've helped make a pretty awful situation rather less awful.

Oh I almost forgot to mention, when I logged on I found an email from the FSCS sent at 13:02 pm today! I don't know what it was all about, it arrived in my spam box so I think it was just a junk email as it was some sort of invitation, anyway I soon deleted it!

    Glad you kept the faith.

You've been an inspiration to all on this thread through some harrowing times.

I'm sure while many of us will be leaving the forum now and putting icesave behind us, it doesn't mean we won't be checking in on progress now and again. And I am sure there will be a number of us like myself looking out for you announcing you've got your money back.

There are 16,000 people who have been sent paper applications so you are not on your own by any means. And there will no doubt be a thread on MSE for those going through the paper application. And if the process is going to take 6 weeks then you imagine that the average application will take 3 weeks. I'd suggest getting your form back to them as fast as you can and perhaps you will put yourself at the front of the queue.

Stick in there and I'm sure when it is all over you will be able to laugh about it even though you obviously can't now.

    Good luck

You are too kind but I can't take any credit, I just happened to be the one who started the thread, it's all of the good people who posted here that made the thread worthwhile.

MSE Forums have seen a lot of new members since this Icesave saga started, lets hope that at least some of them stay to contribute to other threads here, they have so much to offer in giving help and advice to others. :)

What if anything are any of you going to treat yourself to? I'm going to get a giant American fridge and fill it with good quality lager, no more Tesco's own for me. :D

Should shortly be able to pay the balance of my January ski trip, due next week.

And hey, why not another in February, March, April ......................'til the snow runs out!:j :j :j
  • Inspired by amistupid, but a pale imitation I’m sure:

    No longer refreshing
    And obsessively checking
    Wouldn’t have made it through
Without the company of all of you
    So thanks to the camp
    Where Nilrem’s the champ
Lets hope as accounts begin to thaw
The Iceland nightmare will be no more

    :hello:
