Card Factory have the small gold gift bags on offer 6 for £1, which would work just as well. :j

Thanks for the tip - got the 6 for £1 gift bags today.
I also spotted Ferrero Rocher in tesco BOGOF making 32 for £4.
They just happen to be my favourite!
  • Hi, I'm new to this thread but love the idea...

I'm thinking of doing them for the table on Christmas day... I've just ordered some cello bags from eBay with gingerbread men on them and was thinking of my pots to be wine glasses inside the bag...

    Does this sound ok?

Also anyone seen any cheap wine glasses, I'm thinking those ones that are swirled in gold

    Thanks x

saw some today in wilko but weren't swirled in gold though, 60p each or 6 for 3 pound. They were the standard large wine glasses. Really looking forward to doing my pots of gold, something different for the table x

Me too :D although I went for a gold one and a completely plain one for birthday gifts. The plain one is twice as long too - 10 metres!

I probably should have gone for the 10 metre one but wanted the patterned one more. I have never done hampers/pots of gold before so no idea how many metres I will need. I have 4 quite small pots of gold and 1 quite large football hamper to wrap!

This is my first year making pots, thanks to this thread and all the lovely ideas and pics. Maybe jumping in at the deep end, but I'm making 17

Some to be used as little token gifts for relatives I'll be visiting (I hate turning up emtpy handed, especially when they always seem to have something for me), and will include a small "hidden" something in the middle, such as a tube of hand cream, nail polish, keyring coin stash etc.

I didn't want enormous pots because I'll be making so many, so I bought clear plain glass tumblers from Debenhams, they were on offer at £5.10 for 6; I think they're normally £6 for 6. They fit the contents below... if there's any little gaps I'll be trying to stuff in a few more eclairs/worthers!

Included in each one so far:
    • Tiny Lindt teddy bear x1
    • Ferrero Rocher x1
    • Fun size twix x1
    • M&S chocolate eclairs (gold wrappers) x1
    • Worther's Originals x2
    To be added:
    • Chocolate gold coins
    • Gold scratch card x1
I've bought gold spotty cellophane to wrap them in and some gold ribbon. Just hope they are well received :o
