This is such a fab idea.... I am doing on for my OH and 1 for my bro. Quick question I brought them both a Pot of Gold Scratch Card today, in the very remote possibility they win, I don't think the prize has to be collected before a certain date, at least not before 2nd Jan 2013 does it???!!! I've tried reading the back but can't figure it out.....Grocery Challenge Target £400!!

SusanP - off the top of my head I think it's usually around 6 months to claim any prizes - I too bought the Pots of Gold scratchcards and got the shop assistant to check for me (it tells you on the back of the card apparently)Stopped smoking 20th October 2012
This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!0 -
I've been so inspired by all the wonderful pots of gold you have made I thought I'd give them a go this year!
So far I've bought...
Gold coins x 3 bags = £3
Round plastic containers x 10 = 99p
Werther's 160g bag = 95p
Mini crunchie x 12 = £1
Gold bars x 9 = 95p
Total cost so far = £6.89 (69p each!) :T
I still need to buy some tinsel to pad them out & obviously a scratchcard (or 2 depending on recipient!).
Does that seem enough or can anyone think of anything else I should add?#55 in £2012 challenge - £169.87 / £20120 -

Chocolate Christmas decorations
Bauble - you can buy clear, empty baubles which would be ideal if you wanted to personalise them
Mini Christmas cracker (you could make your own)
Party popper (age dependent - not suitable for little 'uns!)
A little gift e.g nail varnish, mini torch etc
Hope this helps
Sorry for the delay in thanking you. Supposed to get instant notifications for replies, but hadn't for this thread. Good suggestions there. Will have a better mooch round town when hubby isn't with me. I bought my 'pots' today. Some Christmas plastic tumblers in poundland-set of four, and had three different designs(father Christmas/penguin/reindeer). At least now I have an idea of size. Finding things small enough to fit inside is part of the fun. Oooh, I have an idea for the girls-does anyone know if they make Christmas nail files? If not, I could buy sparkly ones.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I have done these for the last few years and I put a book of 12 first class stamps in my mums and grans and a miniature bottle of whisky in dads and hubbys. Normally then find something little for DD and DS. Along with this i normally put werthers, ferrero rocher, mcvities gold biscuit, twix minis and a scratch card.:T0

does anyone take the time to wrap these in cellophane? If so, where do you buy it? Ebay seems a little expensive this year and we were hoping to make these as a little extra present for everyone..? xFuture goals:
