Phoned Icesave earlier today and the process of sending out the second email will apparently run until the 4th of December. . .

This is ridiculous, there is no reason whatsoever to put the date back; they could do this again several times.

Since they have done half the users and the email is not required to access and move your money, they should just set all accounts so the process can be initiated. That's all that's needed

Putting the date back? The 4th December has been quoted in their website FAQs for at least a week - http://www.fscs.org.uk/FAQ/Icesave_FAQs/
    11. In what order will the emails be batched? There is no fixed order in which the invitation emails will be sent out. We expect to offer compensation to the vast majority of Icesave customers in November. If you receive the first email but not the second by 4 December 2008, you should call our customer helpline on 0845 7300 131 (Icesave enquiries only).
  • Second email received last Monday 17/11
Request done at 5.00 pm same day
    Received money today 11 am.

    Good luck to all
  • Quick question to those who (unlike me) have got their 2nd email already and are done with it:
I have a fixed rate account in which I'd like to leave the money, and I also have an ISA and a flexible Saver. Hopefully, I can still get the money that is not in the fixed rate account immediately without paperwork?
I'd be worried if my decision to leave the fixed rate money in there would mean that I have to wait weeks more for my other money.

The original FSCS line was that all account holders would receive compensation by the end of November

This was then changed to all 2nd emails will be sent out by the end of November.

It's now a week later - 4th December, delays delays, every week a bit more !

You won't have to wait as the decisions can be taken on an account by account basis.

I dont have my second email either but the FSCS told me that you could treat the different accounts individually and differently from each other, yes.

Also if you log into your account, you will see an 'initiate' hotlink for each account, which presumably supports the assertion.

Actually, they have always been very careful to talk about 'the vast majority' rather than all.

Yes they have, knowing full well thatvast majority to most of us would mean at least 90% if not more. Why would they need another 4 days for those left - whether that be 10% or 1% ? Something not right here.

Well they cant say all, as there are bound to be people who for one reason or another they cant get in touch with. People will have died, moved etc.
