  • First email - 11 November but that was only after I went down the 'send us a blank email to confirm your email addres' route.
    Still no second email.
This has changed my attitude to money right now. I was quite thrifty and enjoyed watching my money grow, right now I'm thinking, sod it, just spend it!! Bought a lovely coat yesterday! lol
  • Not posted before, but wanted to thank the forum contributers for keeping me informed. Got first e-mail, but no second and web site will not let me initiate claim (surprise surprise). Still in two minds as to what to do with fixed term accounts. Have no real concern that the money will get returned but not sure how complex the paperwork will be to keep them to term.

The bank into which our Icesave money was refunded couldn't resist ringing us up as soon as it hit our account offering us a fixed term deal at a paltry rate. Too bad that we moved the money out yesterday to catch a 6.05% deal elsewhere before it was pulled. The banks must be rubbing their hands at all Icesave money which is pouring in. Bet none of it stays there very long before being moved out again.

Might I ask where you found 6.05%?
  • First email recieved 4th Nov still no 2nd email :(

Can I just ask thoughm what would happen if people initiated the claim by pressingm on that button on their account but have not recieved their 2nd email? (I wont be doing this btw I am NOT risking anything :))

Try it - it will inform you that if there is no actions below then wait for the 2nd e-mail. Doesn't do any harm and 1 or 2 have found it works because they didn't get the 2nd e-mail for wahtever reason.

  • Well, I have been checking my e-mail 50 times a day since 9th November. I though I should be strong and didn't check it since 4:30pm ish yesterday until lunch time today. Guess what? 2nd e-mail received yesterday at 5:04pm and I didn't see it for more than 19 hours!
Just initiated the claim, but got confused. Decided to leave the money in there (fixed rate) until its maturity mid-December. You still need to fill in a box for the amount. I was not sure whether to enter the principal amount there or the amount being quoted in the account at the time of the claim. Couldn't see any info in the forum about this and put the amount currently quoted by Icesave with some interest. Well, hope nothing goes pear-shaped because of this.
Waiting for the paper claim form now... Has anybody received it yet?

    Hi All

Just thought I would post to reassure others like myself who have not received their second email.

Phoned Icesave earlier today and the process of sending out the second email will apparently run until the 4th of December. I guess this means that around half the Icesavers have been put out of their misery but the rest of us will have to wait for up to 2 weeks.

I had heard that the payout was supposedly going to be concluded by the end of November - middle of December would now seem to be more accurate.

  • Hi,

I only received one email (presumably I didn't get the first mail that is being mentioned) and have since received my ISA balance into my nominated account.
During the claim process there was no option to ask for a certificate so I could keep the tax-free status of the money going and re-invest in another ISA- is it standard procedure that all Icesave ISA savers will receive a certificate by default?

Yep, should take another 2 weeks.
