I did think that I would find something useful on theses threads but it all seems to be about one-up-man-ship and trying to shout louder, so it does make it hard to read a thread that has pages and pages of the same stuff!

That's what I thought. People are still interested and I realised from NGM's post that he couldn't have been aware of last week's one even. He's probably not the only one.

A bit of fun that people seem to want me to carry on so I'll keep making new people aware.

Yep that was why I created that very first poll last week. I found this thread hard to read and wanted to assess how many emails were being received in the early days ( a bit of a doubting FSCS Thomas). It seemed tiny ( ie single figures at that stage).
Also I wanted to learn how to do them.;). Not bad for a first effort, I say.;)

That's a bit of an exaggeration. I've only done it the once.
Reading our exchange again ( that I took innocently first time round), perhaps that wasn't the case.
MSE is a strange place at times.

I think the continued poll is a good thing. It's the only (semi) quantitative measure that we have access to.

Seeing the trend in email volumes will give comfort to many that some progress is being made.

Personally, I'm not that interested in the absolute volumes, but for those that want to, it's not too difficult to rebase the numbers in the poll against the "10,000" emails sent figure put out at the weekend and/or nilrems other poll 'how many Icesavers are there here'?

I'd say sloughflint is doing the membership here a service. It isn't his poll, it's ours. It's as accurate as it can be in a forum such as this and of course, it will only work if people contribute to it.

Seems legitimate to give it the occasional bump or ad to remind people who can usefully vote on it to do so and benefit us all. Nescaff?
