Perhaps this is FSCS's ruse: they lead people to believe that most Icesavers are cashing their fixed term bonds now, so that we all behave like lemmings and then the FSCS does not have to foot a big interest bill as well.

...well the latest post on the fscs sit says they have transferred £0.5 billion so at an average of £15k per person equatees to 33,333 accounts or approx. 15% of the total 210,000 accounts....with two weeks to go they need to speed up.....

2nd E mail received. It is the end of my fixed rate with Icesave. I had 30K plus maturing at the beginning of January but decided to opt out. It was too much for me. I'm grateful for so many useful posts and wish everyone good luck.;)

May be a lot more accounts sorted as many people with fixed rate won't take their money out as wouldnt get such a good rate elsewhere.

Still no 2nd email.

I never received my 1st email. I had to send a blank email then I got it. Then I replied to that.

Checked my email address on the icesave site and its correct.

I just hope they're not doing this in alphabetical order. Any S-Z surnames had a 2nd email yet?

It's not alphabetical - I received my 2nd e-mail last week (and my linked account has been credited today) whereas a friend whose surname is well before mine in the alphabet has heard nothing since the first e-mail. Neither does it appear to be account-type related, as we both have the same type of account.

I didn't get the first email. I had to send a blank email then I got it. Then I replied to that.

I got the second email through yesterday so it seems to be working for those of us who didn't get the first one.

Fingers Crossed for money to appear ok too.

Mines 'S' and I'm still waiting, don't think its being done in any order though!
We opened an account just as Icesave started so they are not doing it by length of account either. We also have Isa's, transferred this year.
Received our first email on the 4th.

I am at the stage now that if our second email does not come within the next few days I will have to withdraw some savings from elsewhere to put into an account I have to pay a monthly amount in, or forfeit the interest rate. I was using savings in Icesave to drip feed in to this account!

I recieved my first email 4-11-08 but have not had my second one yet, my money is in isas My surname begins with D just have to wait!
