Eh? Condemning pasties but commending stottie cake!
What sort of nouveau arriviste would use anything but the cheapest cuts to make the gravy to dip the stottie in?0 -

Oooh walker, bet your dead rough!!!
I'm a wallsend lassie myself so it's more gosfath, my mams from walker, but the flats she lived in are long gone and I lived there for a bit too about 10 years ago, walker rd, right opposite ken hornsby's newsagent, you would not recognise the place now, they have started pulling it all down. It won't be missed though it really had lost the community spirt my mam used to remember.
When ever someone in our family dies, I have to go straight to my mams via greggs to get stotties, then best ham, peas pudding and marks and spencer for the bertroot (only M&S for a death), no matter how close or distant the relative, everyone has to drink too much tea and eats the stotties, it tradition.
Oooh Phatmouse - I fancy a stottie ham and peas pud sarnie now! :rotfl:If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0 -

only a georgie with a geordie sense of humour could say that to another geordie with the same geordie sense of humour and not cause offence.

buying pasties and sausage rolls for their breakfasts is unbelievable.
iwant to stand in the middle of them all and shout "there are pig snouts, testicles, skin, nostils etc in those products"
How anybody can put these things into their bodies hot or cold beggars belief eeuugh
Everyone knows pies are made from knobs, noses and eyelids.
People pretend to themselves that they're lovingly prepared by hand by people who have washed recently.
Obviously when they find an especially chewy bit of nad, their illusion is shattered.
Best eat quorn."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

There's nothing wrong with offal - the main issue that you should have with pies, pasties, sausages etc is the high salt levels. Quorn on the other hand is bland, flavourless and just wrong.0
