Maybe OP was just in a huffy bad mood and the only think they could think of to blame all of lifes troubles on is Greggs pasties! If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0 -
Always has the sign...."CAUTION HOT SURFACE" on the glass of the pasty display glass...wish it applied to their food as well.I hate migraines.0

I bought 2 pasties yesterday dinnertime, As usual, But these 2 were 'Stone' cold - I should have said something but what difference would it have made!!
I wouldn't be complaining if their food was cheap, But 2 cold pasties for 1.78!! not the cheapest in town.
I have never understood why anyone would serve 'cold' food to customers, Even dogs let alone.
And the 'Rule oh we can only heat them once' is 'Total' !!!!!!!! in my book, I don't care what the 'Enviro Bods say'
So the next time I go into a 'Greggs' I will insist on the pasties being warm or no vendor.
FOOD HAS TO BE WARM TO HEAT THE BODY.
COLD FOOD IS FOR PENGUINS!!
As a guide, a good medium Cornish pasty will cost between £1.80 and £2.50. It will be supplied in a plain white paper bag. If its hot hot or really greasy it will be double bagged. If you have to say pasty in the request for the pasty you are probably not in a suitable shop for buying a pasty. The usual request will be something like "large steak", "medium skirt" etc etc. If in a really flash pasty shop you may be asked, "shotcrust" or "flaky". A good shop will warn you if the pasty is excessively hot or cold and may give you the option to wait for the next batch if its due in 5 minutes. Cross the Tamar and you're in trouble. Plymouth is a blackspot for pasties. Dorchester on the other hand is a hot spot. Carry a bottle of Tabasco with you at all times. Shield your pasty from the wildlife.
Beware ordinary shops selling fancy pasties like "steak and stilton" you will probably get the runs. Don't ask anyone to recommed a pasty shop as invariably they will point you to the bad one (every time wihtout fail). The best shops are plain almost anonymous and the pasties will either be in the back bakeroom or behind the counter cooling on racks. Not in a keepy-hotty hotairium probably to stop them walking off.
My experience of Greggs (Platt Fields in particular) from 20 years ago would lead me to believe that they are not candidated for purveyors of fine pasties. I might trust them to do me a ham salad barm or some iced fingers but not a pasty. Not 2 for £1.78.
Sorry to hear of your experience.0 -

They probably would have...y'know, heated them up for you?
Mad idea I know, so it's little wonder you didn't think to ask at the time.
Still, struggle on.0 -

o usually call into the bakers on a morning and the amount of school kids
buying pasties and sausage rolls for their breakfasts is unbelievable.
iwant to stand in the middle of them all and shout "there are pig snouts, testicles, skin, nostils etc in those products"
How anybody can put these things into their bodies hot or cold beggars belief eeuughmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Are you a little bit mad?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0
