Rubbish! They know. They may prefer to stick their fingers in their ears and make silly noises, but they know.
If they are not vegan they are hypocritical and wasteful. Squeamish omnivores deserve to be locked in to foie gras pens and force-fed mechanically recovered slurry.
Where was I rude? Where was I offensive (well, prior to my second paragraph in this post)? I am pretty sure that Ms Hanlon is capable of taking care of herself. After all, I am not the one making comments like "hope you are learning English at school" or "im glad i didnt give birth to you".
Just why are you attacking me. in this pompous, holier than thou , not to mention childish way, I have done nothing to you to justify this,
if thats all you can come up with you need to be on another thread.
I'll come up with a heading for it soon, I am just so angry at you at the moment i can hardly think straight.
My previos posts in other threads have no bearance on this thread and your quotes were out of context.
I was not promoting veganism. Kids have no idea what they are eating until someone tells them. Anyway, i hardly think eating what they do put into them is encompassing a balanced dietmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

No actually people don't know what goes on in factories/abbatoirs etc unless they are told or they make an effort to find out. Not everybody does. Some people choose a vegetarian lifestyle for ethical reasons. Their choice.
Moreover criticising spelling, punctuation and grammar is rude... and I cannot remember having seen either of those comments in this thread.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Do you mean to say that this poster is actually referring to things said on another thread then?
I wondered where those quotes were from! I am shocked:eek:
Take a deep breath and read your sig, Annie...;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I just piped up to !!!!! about the abandonment of morning rolls. It's not my fault I serendipitously chanced upon Ms Hanlon's hysterical rant in this other thread. If you are fed such a line it is impolite to decline to bite. It is a moral quandary - the rudeness of the comment battling with the rudeness of ignoring the fish in the barrel. I think Valli's interjection has unnecessarily dropped an incidental incendiary into the mix.0

Actually not everyone is as well informed and knowledgeable as yourself. However with knowledge it's obvious that understanding of others doesn't come with that.

Who's hypocritical? Omnivores in general or omnivores who don't understand where most of their food comes from? Also who's saying that all omnivores eat fois gras?
You are starting to sound extremely patronising which isn't a good thing in anybody, vegan or not!Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

By the way I am not vegan - but I choose what I want to eat and it doesn't include cow heels and tripe...
I don't like tripe. Does that make me hypocritical? I don't like beetroot much...or tomatoes really but I eat THEM because they are good for me.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Did you watch the Good Old Days when you were younger then?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
You're mixing your analogies anyway - we are fishing when we dangle a line into a river, or a canal (or indeed the sea). One shoots fish in a barrel.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

im originally from Walker bt live in north yorkshire, am i right in thiniking that Greggs = Thomas the Baker = Carricks are all one and the same.#
Right at this moment i would give my left arm to have a ham and pease puddin' stotty cake.
are you just Gosfurth n as we kids in Walker used to pronounce it or do you live in posh Gosforth and say Gos Forth
We live near Dishforth but my father in law used to pronounce it Dish forth
Happy days !!!
Oooh walker, bet your dead rough!!!
I'm a wallsend lassie myself so it's more gosfath, my mams from walker, but the flats she lived in are long gone and I lived there for a bit too about 10 years ago, walker rd, right opposite ken hornsby's newsagent, you would not recognise the place now, they have started pulling it all down. It won't be missed though it really had lost the community spirt my mam used to remember.
When ever someone in our family dies, I have to go straight to my mams via greggs to get stotties, then best ham, peas pudding and marks and spencer for the bertroot (only M&S for a death), no matter how close or distant the relative, everyone has to drink too much tea and eats the stotties, it tradition.0 -
