Could you consider updating the original post to include the number quoted by IKON in post 62 i.e. 0845 603 2430. I tried the original number and was asked to leave details but got straight through on this other number.

May help someone as the deadline approaches.

Rebate of £40 to be knocked of my next quarterly bill.

    Cheers for this! :money:

tried this number and got straight on to someone who knew all about it. told me it was anyone claiming ANY state benefits. Never asked me if the DLA was for me or anyone else in the house, just wanted to know what benefits are claimed at the address.

Many thanks for this, wont worry so much about leaving the heating on over night when its needed.
  • Got it! I have also passed this on to members of an Autism forum I use where lots of people are in reciept of 1 or more of the benefits listed, so thanks from me and from them too.

    Hi to all.

First post, so here goes .....

I'm with Npower for both gas and elec, and after reading on here about the BG rebate, I decided to phone Npower cust services to see if I could get a reduction.

First time I phoned, woman told me it would be unlikely BG would offer anyone a rebate and as she hadn't heard of such a scheme It did not exist and I was not entitled to a rebate.

Came back to MSE and looked at Jenny's post where an article from the mirror was mentioned. Read up on this and discovered Npower offer a warm response rebate total £35 for dual fuel.

Phoned Npower again with this info and was told I could only get it if registered disabled. So I complained that I would qualify if I was a BG customer and it's not fair blah blah blah.

Result is Npower are going to see if they can offer me the full £35 rebate and I will find out on Wednesday. Fingers crossed.

In the meantime, hope this helps any Npower customers who are registered disabled.
