Although British Gas killed their rebate npower still have one and it is four times larger then British Gas's - £250. Unfortunately, it is not available to the poorest people only the old and those with children or disabilities.

Addendum: Apologies - just received notice that it is only available on the Standard tariff. So that'll make it useless unless you have a very low useage.

winter fuel rebates are finished but disabled can still get 8% off electricity and 4% off Gas so it's still worth a call same number just have your gas and electricity ref No's ready DON'T select any options when you call let them finish and a operator will answer you just say you want to sign up to the lower tariff it takes about 6 weeks but they will backdate it to what ever date you called them LOL

As stated above i rang up British Gas and asked to be put on Essentials Tarrif. This gives up discounts on gas and electric and also freezes the 35% hike till April 2009.

Spanky - If you are talking about dual fuel or direct debit discounts they are deducted from your bill month by month. And the Essentials discount no longer exists - there were no rebates for the winter of 07/08 (only a 'reduced' tariff).

(Have a closer look at the dates of the rest of the posts in this thread :))
  • yes it was the end of feb 08 that the last rebate was to be paid i think..... i still havent received nov 07 rebate either... they do know this just that they will put the claim through again for me and nothing appears!
