ENDS 28 FEB. £30 rebate for British Gas customers on benefits.

I would like to thank you for letting us know about the gas and electric rebates.
I phoned them on 29th December and was told to leave them a message as they were busy,but they didnt phone me back.
I phoned them today and registered.I told them about phoning them earlier and the man said he would put a note on the computer that I had phoned before,and hopefully I would get the £60

Many thanks, I didn't know about this rebate, I know the deadline has passed (only heard about it yesterday (4th Jan) but I will phone in the morning and see what happens. Why are customers not told about this rebate.? I did not receive notification about it with my last bills, and would not have known abut it if i hadn't e-mailed Money Saving Expert. grateful reader

I passed this on to my friend and mother and we ALL qualify. Left a message and no less than 2 people called me back. Good service! We all got our rebate. THANK YOU!

Well I don't know what happened, but my letter came through today from them saying I will get the full £60 even though I applied on the 3rd!! I'm not going to query it myself, obviously, but maybe it might be worth checking again seeing as I've got it?

thanks, I have changed to British Gas over Christmas as a result of this site and now I can clain £30 as well...BUT BRITISH GAS HAVE JUST TOLD ME THAT IT FINISHES ON 15TH jANUARY!

This doesn't seem to work for me. I can never get a an answer on the posted number, and when I spoke to someone on another number at british gas they said you had to be specially nominated by the government to get the rebate and that you can't just apply!

phoned the number today only to be informed that it didnt apply to scottish power customers only british gas .

phone;- 0845 600 5122 to get your reference number if you dont know it - they ask a couple of security questions so it is safe..
