Thanks - my friend just told me she found some mugs like that in a £ shop - will definitely have to look their first but if that fails I'll look in the shops you mentioned - thank you.

Have been looking around for 'tea' things and have seen a tea bag squeezer - are they useful and do people actually use them, or just a silly thing that doesn't get used? We do drink a lot of tea in this house though...

I don't like them as they also squeeze the oils into the mug and make the tea taste funny. I think the tea bag/spoon holder is a better idea. I had a nice teapot shaped one from Home Bargains for 39p recently. Whittards sell some nice ones too.

Thanks! No point in getting one of those then :rotfl: Definitely going to look for one of the tea bag/spoon holder things :) I'm sure I've seen them before.

    HTH :D

................if you make this like a small cushion with a flap (folded into three) and leave that unsewn, you can put the spices into a muslin bag and then place that inside the flap.

You only need to place a newly filled muslin bag into the holder each Christmas. That way you still get that lovely aroma when you put a hot saucepan onto the holder every year. :)
  • I saw christmas design mugs like those before christmas in the £1 shop.

loved looking through this thread you all did really well and have given me looks to think about for this year:)

I have to think of what to get my gran for her birthday, I can not get her smellies again.

Any ideas I am not sure how old she is, I know she is late 60's and she likes knitting.

Can't help you with the knitting part but what about doing a 'Journal in a Jar' for her ? I'm around your grans age and I'd be thrilled if someone did that for me.

Dnt think it would be something that she like, she is really annoying at times.

She does eat chocolate but she is not meant to as she is diabetic. Not many people in the family bother with her so it has to be special. She does read books but I do not know which ones she has read.

I was thinking a breakfast in bed hamper but I really have no idea. I could buy her some jam and peal off the lables and make them look home made.

Her birthday is in Feb so really need to get my thinking cap on.
