Thanks Mary just emailed my local paper to ask if they help. I know these do a book called Bygone Bradford but not sure if it still available, some one on ebay is charging 15 quid which is too much for me.

Thanks to the poster that suggested a CD for my gran, I found one on Ebay with music from the year she was born. I did want to get her a newpaper from 1939 but all the sites cost way too much. I have found one site that does front covers only, but these are greetings cards.

how about make your own here http://www.inthepaper.co.uk/default.aspx?gclid=CImT_MjK4JUCFQoTuwodtmdVXw
    and print it off:confused:

If there's a history society for that area they might be able to help. I've had loads of info from the history soc. of the town I was born in - loads of things I didn;t know, plus got some books on the town.
    Good luck.

Have just stunned OH as I've already come up with an idea for a hamper for one of our friends for CHristmas 2009!
It all started with a re-useable hadn warmer, 49p in superdrug-realised one of our friends is famous for always being cold so now on the lookout for bargain fleece blankets, hot water bottles and scarves!

    <feels all smug and MSE-ish>:D

Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?

I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

Has anyone got any ideas as to what to put into a hamper for my friends birthday. I met up with her today, and we have decided to do a long weekend later on in the year. With her birthday being in March I though I could do a hamper on NY, but get stuck after getting her a guide book, so we don't get lost, and pre-booked tickets for broadway.

    Thanks for any ideas.
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

Happy New Year everyone, hav'nt posted since before Christmas, hope everyone had a good one. Well my baskets went down a treat, everyone thought I had gone to so much trouble and spent lots of money!! My Brother loved his movie night hamper, he told all his friends about it and could'nt stop telling me how great it was. My mum was the same with hers, she did'nt want to disturb it, she said it looked professional. I am so pleased they all liked them, thank you again everyone for your inspiration. Looking forward to Christmas again now. :j :j :j

you use in Sainsbury's etc) as DD's birthday is /Easter Sunday and I made a joke about getting her a trolley full of chocolate for her birthday pressie then realised it *could* be do-able...:D
