Anyone *NOT* got their Icesave/FSCS email?

let's be honest, if you didn't receive the 1st email (i.e without kick-starting a robot emailer, which non-icesavers can do) then you can't be 100% sure that you are "known to FSCS" and that the 2nd will arrive.
The auto-respond method doesn't instill me with great confidence, unless we could somehow know that the emails are being actively cross-referenced against icesave accounts.0 -
I'm also a user of Talktalk
tried any number of times to send the icesave@fscs.org.uk but with no result. as a result oft the many helpful people on this forum I contacted FSCS using another
e-mail address. In my case I used Yahoo - easy to set up on Yahoo's home page.
Using the new Yahoo e-mail address I received an immediate response to the FSCS
1st e-mail . I had already contacted Talktalk 2nd line and explained the problem,
this was on Saturday but the problem still pesists, its immpossible to contact FSCS
using Talktalk.
Next its important to go to ICESAVE home page ,
log in as normal,:j and then change
your e-mail address from Talktalk to your new Yahoo e-mail address.
After a number of people suggesting that this may lead to further problems, I checked again both with FSCS and Icesave and they both said using a new e-mail
address would be OK, why not give it a try0 -
I have still not received an e-mail and phoned FSCS on 0845 7300 131 this morning.[just got automated message] I have since phoned my internet provider Orange to check that there is no fault with them. I have also sent an e-mail to FSCS to let them know my problem.
Anyone else with the same problem? Any advice?

I used Orange for my "new" ICESAVE email address as talktalk being blocked and the FSCS email came to me marked as SPAM and in my junk folder the mail is from ICESAVE and the subject is FSCS Icesave Notification - have a careful look amongst the junk emails. Hope this helps0 -
Thanks for previous replies. I have now created a new address due to Talktalk filters, (Yahoo), and used the email address someone else showed to email FSCS. I got my automated reply (which does seem a bit odd as indeed anyone can email them and get this?!) and have sent a blank one back as it requests. So, I join a lot of other people, sitting waiting for something else to happen, to give us back our cash!! Fingers crossed...(also took eat more Crunchies option, just to be on the safe side)0

Personally I don't see that there is a problem here anyway, as soon as people here start reporting that they are getting emails inviting them to visit the site to transfer their cash just log on yourself and click the initiate button, if it's no go then leave it and try again the next day until it works, if it works first time then it won't matter whether we receive the 2nd email or not! The 2nd email does not contain anything that you need to enter it just asks you to log on in the 'normal' way.0

Hi Harrowing,
I'm inclined to agree with you that the way the system has operated doesn't inspirer much confidence. It would be slightly more encouraging if the FSCS stated how many replies it has received, how many have bounced back and how many have not done either.
Ah well we must just be optimists and assume the we will all have received our mony by Xmas(2009!!!) :hello:0 -
