The amount of money I must have spent already on hold to FSCS 0845 number I could have bought a case of wine. Lets hope something is sorted on Monday

A shame you didn't call them on their 020 number then.:(
• Hi,

My ISP is quite uncommon, UTILITY WAREHOUSE, but I received no email, nor a response on emailing the FSCS. Their filter is "IRONPORT". I called them and it can't be turned off, nor my question investigated until monday. So i switched the email in icesave to my hotmail. Upon emailing them, I got the first email straight back and confirmed it to them with a reply. So my conclusion is my ISP is definitely treating the emails as spam. At least now I have got conncected to FSCS now, I shouldn't miss the second email.
Hope this helps a few.

For those that have not received any email from FSCS, this may help. It is possible to log onto your Icesave account and change your email address. You obviously need to have a second more reliable email address than the one that you were using. For example try setting up an email address that is independent of your ISP such as Hotmail or Yahoo. You then send a blank email from your new email address to Icesave@fscs.org.uk as per the instructions on the FSCS website http://www.fscs.org.uk/consumer which should trigger the automatic email back to your new email address within a few minutes. You then confirm receipt by replying (delete the text but retain the subject). My wife has done this procedure and it worked just fine (adding the disclaimer that you try at your own risk).

Many thanks for that suggestion. I hadn't had a response from my Eclipse email account so logged on to Icesave and changed it to a GMail account I had. Sent the blank email from that account and got an immediate reply :j:T

• I have a Hotmail email address registered with Icesave ever since I opened my account.

I am yet to receive any emails.

Is this unusual?

Thanks for your help.

Who is your ISP?
That's not relevant, as I keep my email domain and my ISP completely separate. Which seems to be the way other people have solved the problem in subsequent posts.
• Further info for Eclipse users - Login to your account at https://www.eclipse.net.uk/index.cfm?id=login
Go to "My Users" and change the Anti Spam setting to "off" for the appropriate email address.
I promptly received three Icesave responses (yes I had sent three emails to them!)
Don't forget to restore your Anti Spam settings eventually after you've got your money back. Otherwise I don't mind having the Anti Spam system because I only want the emails I have volunteered for.
Thanks to Neilsedaka as well!

No one has received their 2nd email yet, these are due to be sent out starting from early next week. :)

(I presume you mean the one advising one to log on and withdraw the money?)
• I am also on hotmail and did not recieve first e-mail, until I e-mailed the FSCS myself and the response then came through immediately
