Thanks to the person who suggested trying another email account - I changed my TALKTALK email address in my ICESAVE account to an old ORANGE address I no longer use sent a blank email and received the response in seconds - then I changed on my wife's account.
That got me thinking my wife and I use the same email address and the FSCS emails only seem to be going to email addresses rather than personally, so when it comes to the second email will the same apply and say 2 accounts with the same email address will they be invited to initiate the withdrawl procedure at the same time ? Must work that way if the emails are not personnal I should think ? Opinions ?
  • I have not received the first Email yet, may be because I have joint account.
I sent emails from both the associated userids to the robot early in the morning but yet no reply. It is a 3 Year FTD, so I can just stay with them, but
if I had the money it is still possible to get 7% with B&B as I have opened an account with them 3 weeks ago, which is waiting for direct debit transfer of the funds, up to £50K. ICICI also gives 7% for 3Yr FTD.
Now back to ICESAVE, I can log on to my account and see an 'Initiate' option,
but when I Initiate it, it comes back and says if you see no options following this message then you are not yet activated to 'Initiate' the FSCS. It suppose to give me choice of continuing with my FTD or withdraw the funds.
Well ... at least I know the money is there and one of these hours/days I will get the email. Other wise I will send a secure email from my account later.

Thanks Nilrem but I cant take the credit, all that goes to Neilsedaka and very many thanks to him:j:beer::D

I realise that but you posted the message last and reported that it was successful and anyway after all the tension you have had the last few days I though you deserved some 'credit' Lol :)
  • My wife and I also have joint account, with two individual Talktalk addresses, but they both arrive on the same Windows Mail machine, so I cannot loose any of the responses, but 'No email' for either of us.
  • Changing EMAIL account and trying from the new address, seems to be a good idea, I will change my email address to same as my wife's and see what happens.

No i didnt get a confirmation. Should I have ?!?! dont get me worried again!! ;)

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for this forum and all the posts. It has helped as I have been really worried back since 7th October as at the moment for various reasons, this was the worse time I coudl have potentially be losing savings. I appreciate all the feedback and depsite being really worried, especially last night, I found the "camaraderie" really comforting if that doenst sound daft. Anyway thanks again....you are all :A

Please all. Let no one worry......we all will get our savings back. Some earlier than others. With 200,000 claims, someone has to be first, and someone last. No doubt there will be some difficult situations, like at Kaupthing, but make no mistake, everyone will get their savings back.

I realise we will get a certificate saying we dont lose our ISA staus , however does that still apply if we only re-invest part of what we origianally had in the ISA. I need ready cash at mo but I know if we re-invest before April its ok. If for example I only re-invest half of it, is that still tax frees ISA status?

    (does that sound blonde?!?)

You should have used the 020 number mentioned in this thread and on the FSCS's website. There was almost no delay getting through on that if you selected Option 4.

0845 lines are always set up to make you queue because the telecoms companies running them take a huge revenue share for every minute people spend queuing.:mad:
    .
Thanks for the tip however the 020 number is not manned after 1200am Saturdays.
After another very long wait got thru again to the 0845 7300 number. They say I am the 350th Talktalk customer to complain about not receiving the 1st e-mail
They say their IT dept will be contacting Talktalk directly on Monday to try and resolve the problem. FSCS say they are receiving e-mails, hence we do not receive
a default message "msg not sent" on our own computer. Wonder just how many of Talktalk customers have received the e-mail ???
