I am on talktalk also, still no email and same repsonse when phone dagin jsut now. I changed my email to lower case on Icesave yesterday so I dont think that makes a difference. Also nothing in spam

I've just managed to get through to the FSCS helpline. There is a problem with Talktalk addresses because talktalk is treating it as spam and deleting before it gets to the spam box. FSCS only discovered the problem this morning and are trying to get talktalk to deal with it. Hope they have more luck getting sense out of talktalk support than I ever have!

Ye of little faith! :rotfl::) Don't forget that it's only a couple of weeks ago that people were pontificating that we would not be getting our cash back for at least 6 months, some were suggesting several years!
I am usually a very pessimistic person but in this case I really do feel confident that we shall have our cash back in the next 3 weeks. :j

    Fingers crossed :rotfl:
Me? Never! I'm usually pretty opptomistic, I'm just concious of the number of people involved here. I'm actually not stressing about it - what would be the point!?! - so I'll just wait and see what happens :)

At least with an email you have a few things under you control

Just imagine having to deal with all this by post - and of course YOU still have that option. Forget about email, insist they deal with your particular case by post

The FSCS helpline staff are a bunch of lieing toerags. They know perfectly well that their email has been filtered as spam by practically all the main spam filtering services. The only difference is that some of the ISP's with more sophisticated spam filtering on their email services let you view the stuff filtered out as spam while dumbed down ISPs (eg TalkTalk) do not.

Why can't the FSCS accept that hearfrom.com have completely screwed up sending this email and arrange for a competent bulk emailing house to send out this email again (in such a way it is not filtered as spam) and also for the competent emailing house to send out the all important second email that says you can now access your money.

I will be submitting a Freedom of Information Request to the FSCS about how they came to use email instead of post for this communication and were what their criteria for selecting hearfrom.com rather than a larger and more established emailing house who knows how to send a bulk email without it being classed as spam.

I've got mine thanks, my Mum is still waiting for hers....and even the "sending to special address" did not get a return. So she feels she has NO CONTROL OR INFORMATION...
  • Still no email, but at least this forum seems pretty conclusive in suggesting it is a spam filter problem with a couple of ISPs. Managed to log into the Icesave website and my money still appears to be there...phew!

I see that cheeky Charles Arthur in the Guardian has cut and pasted directly from my email to the Chairman and CEO of the FSCS but not credited me for its contents.

He did email me saying he was thinking of using it but then engaged in a long and smug argument with me by email as to why I was not entitled to any interest from the FSCS after October 7th.

However as he presently seems to think I may be the only one who has had their email filtered as spam perhaps you may care to email Charles to prove to him this is most certainly not the case.

    His email address is:- charles.arthur@guardian.co.uk
