  • There is now a special email address on the FSCS web site for people who haven't received thir first email.
  • Likewise - just managed to get through to the FSCS on the Icesave helpline. They calimed not to understand the problem as 'all the emails have gone out' and then gave me another number to call, but that number was for an office that was 'closed'. Tried calling the Icesave helline back and now just get cut off...

And have tried it three times - no response
  • It might not be an instant response. I have often waited a few days for the so called automated response.
  • I too am getting no response when sending the blank email. I suspect the emails must be spam to my ISP filter. I am wondering what the point is of the emails anyway, the first one is just information, which I have anyway. If all the second one does is tells you that the system is activatated for your repayment to be initiated, then why wouldn't I just keep going onto icesave website and trying it until it works. If they are validating emails, how are they doing it.

  • Just did mine and got a response straight away :D

The bloke at the FSCS on the one occasion I managed to get through said it should be an instant or almost instant response - certainly not 12hours plus...

    Getting increasingly stressed with this....

I sent an email to the FSCS last night but still nothing back and the automated telephone has just this minute told me to try again later as all lines are busy.I am on Talktalk and I see that Icesave have my email address in capitals whereas it should be lower case.Nothing in my spam either.Getting frustrated now but am going out so will try the phone again this afternoon before the 5pm deadline.

I am on talktalk also, still no email and same repsonse when phone dagin jsut now. I changed my email to lower case on Icesave yesterday so I dont think that makes a difference. Also nothing in spam

me too see post above . Just tried to send blank email again and no repsonse ;)

Just had a reply to an email I sent to the customer service email addreess@fscs last night, explaining that I hadnt had an automated response to my blank email it says:
Thank you for your recent enquiry.

Please note that due to higher than usual demand it may take us longer to answer your calls and emails, and we are currently unable to provide you with a personalised response. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you are currently unable to log on to your Icesave account, you can contact Icesave's customer services helpline on 0845 605 6050. They will be able to assist you to resolve any problems. Alternatively, customers who are unable to use the electronic payout process will still be able to claim compensation using a paper-based application process.

We will contact those who do not log on to complete a payment through the electronic process and arrange for an Application Form to be sent to them. If you have not heard from us by 4 December, you should call our customer helpline on 0845 7300 131 (Icesave enquiries only).

Please refer to our website for further information, which contains Frequently Asked Questions about Icesave http://www.fscs.org.uk/consumer/.

However, if you are still unsure about any matter, please call our helpline on: 0845 7300 131 (Icesave enquiries only). We will try to respond to your query as soon as possible.

    Yours faithfully
