    Hello :hello:

I don't know where the time is going now I'm back at work!!

Tree was removed on Sunday, one week after it fell!! and they took all the timber away with them :( so nothing for my fire pit

I need to do a shop later so will go home and write a meal plan, prob for next 4 days, I know I've got chicken, mince and tuna in the freezer, need to check cupboards before writing list :D

DD painted bedroom white with help of pals at weekend and doing one wall turqoise this weekend so will take her to pick up paint too
I need to do my hall, stairs and landing before Xmas, I was going to look for a decorator but think I'll try it myself now :)

new bed was put together on Sunday, it's very low compared to the high iron frame bed we had and all OH says when he gets in is 'it's awful low this bed isn't it?' what difference does it make when you're lying down lol

  • Sunnyday - thank you. I'm not exactly sure how much evil cat eats. Around half a tin to a tin is being put down per day, but not that much of it is being eaten. I would estimate about a quarter to a half a tin of Felix per day, plus she scrounges any meat or fish that falls from little bear's high chair. If you saw her trying to kill half a fish finger you would appreciate that even in an elderly, malicious, pampered tabby a rabid killer tiger is trying to get out. Just not too hard in case the fire gets turned off.

VickyA - wishing your mum and your student all the good luck

Glad - We have recently replaced our beds which are higher, and I am now more than a trifle concerned I will fall out!

Must get off to make shepherd's pie for dear heart. I shall put in my blog tonight about the Health Visitor visit. It was not as smooth as it could be, although I am happy with it, it was bewildering. Though I feel that I am permanently bewildered these days!

Glad - you think they'd have let you have some wood, after all your house has been holding the tree up for a week!

Just a quicky while at work - do frozen rasps & blackberries make good jam?

  • Please do a thread Thriftlady, I so much enjoyed your last one.

I don't think there will be much to write about my new lodger, she's very nice & very normal, thankfully.

  • Afternoon Guys!

Not been very well this morning, so have just rested up and taken it easy. I meet with anethesitist tomorrow and I have a funny feeling he is going to say Im not well enough for the op. My appointment is at 11.30 so will know soon enough. My blood tests didnt come back too good yesterday.

WM needs to go on to wash my dressing gown for hospital and theres another load needing doing too. DW has been on and emptied and the house is generally clean and tidy.

OH got a cheap pork joint yesterday so we had a roast last night, so he is making the Fish pie tonight which he will brown off in the remoska. He also has prepared sweet pots, carrots, swede, parsnip and onion in the stockpot for a large pot (1.25ltr) of soup with a coupleof stock cubes. It freezes well and I have some ziplock bags specifically for this....yummy. Maybe he can bring in some whilst im in hospital? He got all the veggies for 70p.

There is some pork left over, so could we re-heat tomorrow in gravy in remoska? Will it be too dry?

We have booked a week away the 2nd week of Xmas back up to where we have just come back from as we loved it so much. Nice and quiet and friends will be there too.

Anyway, I hope all is well.

    (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((smokey)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

    Take care

  • Hi all

Feel a bit 'flat' at the moment so nearly didn't post, we have discovered the therapist that comes highly recommended for me, is not available on the national health which is a bit of a blow.

sistercas and Sunnyday - hope you enjoy the buns, they always go down well in this house!
redruby and jayward - I was hoping that £20 would cover the extra fuel etc, but I guess maybe I could ask her for £25 a week and see how it goes.
Betheebee - hope the decorationg goes well.
floss - yes they make delicious jam and I will join the queue for a jar!
    PenPin - *hugs*

My OH is clearing out his 'office'/junk room today as that will be where our friend is staying. There is a lot of muttering and climbing up and down into the loft going on! Think we will have quesadillas for tea, to use up the frozen mince and some of my home dried chillis.

Hope everyone is doing well today and *hugs* to anyone who needs them.

  • The best laid plans of cats and mice... I have just eaten my lunch.

Now definitely after this post should be able to start Shepherd's Pie, but I have hardly any time before dear heart gets in, so it will be made with instant potato :o I do hope it will be okay.

Money Saving Diva - I do hope you feel better soon. Perhaps having a friend staying will be a bit of a 'cheer up'. How are your knees? Perhaps you should ask Hester about paying guests, and I think your friend is very lucky to be staying with you. Will Treacle approve?

Floss2 - I will be pming the link, but due to a queue of phone calls I need to do tonight I doubt I shall update my blog until quite late. :o But I do enjoy writing things down.

Can someone explain - what are Wooligans?
