Hi, this is the OS Daily thread for Monday 3nd November, 2008. It is an 'over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Where is everyone this morning, it seems a lot colder here today, I have put the heating on this morning, I did put it on for an hour last night but found it too warm and switched it off again.
Can't remember what is for dinner, the cupboards are a bit bare after our week away, I have a sainsbugs delivery coming today, I think it might be hm lamb burgers and wedges for tea.
Going to strip the beds and get them washed today, and have a good tidy through, also need to make a cake, maybe coconut and sultana, and some cookies.
Diva I meant to say to you I dont think £20 is enough for your friend to come and stay with you long term, it will cost that in the exrtra light heating and water alone, i would ask for a bit more I think. I know you dont like talking about money, but its your house, and otherwise you will be put of pocket.
Hugs to smoky ( where are you ?)
And Candy xx
Hope every one is well xx

Morning Ruby and all who follow
Not a lot of time this morning as I am looking after DGD and need to walk Charlie and have breakfast before leaving the house. Not sure what we will do, but it will involve lots of laughs and cuddles
Bit of a disaster on the OS front yesterday, thought I would make some bread rolls and put the BM onto basic instead of dough, so they went in the bin
Need to pop into Asda for some beefburgers as DH said last night he really fancied some, I know I should make my own, but don't have time today.
Hope everyone is OK xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Morning REDRUBY, those who cross and follow, Have been up since 5am, can't sleep as I'm starting to panic about having so many people to stay on 13th to 18th.
Plans today is to wallpaper the study, managed to get exactly what I wanted at Laura Ashley on Sat. Was £18 a roll down to £6.40. I've been waiting ages for the sale. So far I've decorated 8 rooms, staircase, 2 hallways. Only 2 more rooms to go.
Must make a meal plan for the 5 days, I have loads of chilli, curry and soup in the freezer. Must go to local farm and get chicken quarters, will do BBQ drumsticks and a cass with the thigh bits, and try to find room in freezer.
Plan to do cauli cheese, quiches and fish pies for veggies. So much to organise, aaarrghhhh.
Redruby, You're right when you said there's some wierd people in Glast, we never cease to be amused. :rotfl:0 -
Morning all,
Haven't posted on here for ages, but we've been struggling more and more lately, so think it's time to get back into my OS ways.
I'm starting work in a min, but working from home and only doing 3 hours this morning as I've booked the afternoon off to sort the house out, it's a state  Hopefully by the end of today our bedroom should be clean and sparkly, LO's room should be clean and sparkly, tea should be ready for when OH comes home and the spare room should look like a spare room again instead of a jumble sale. Oh - and the 3 bin liners of ironing should be done too :rotfl:
Hope everyone's feeling ok in this cold weather xDebts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -

Morning everyone
Its a bit chilly this morning.
Dont know what to have for supper, think I will take some salmon out of the freezer, and have it will some couscous perhaps? Or with rice and chilli and ginger. Got a Mr T delivery.
Still no luck, selling the house and that is getting me down.
I craved something sweet yesterday and made some of twinks hobnobs, but made them far too big as I only got about 16 out of the recipe! Now wish I hadnt made them as I doubt they will keep long and thats not good for me!
Hugs to those that need them.Pawpurrs x

Making my apple chutney this afternoon. I'll let you know how it goes. I've got to go to sainsburys but have written my list and will try and wear blinkers to not get drawn towards all the so called deals.
Taking my little boy to Rhymetime at the library and dropping off a baby gym to a lady from freecycle. None of my friends who'd had babies wanted it.
Hope the weathers kind to us all today.

Have a busy OS day planned - need to pop to the supermarket for supplies and meal plan for the next few nights before going on holiday. Also need to tackle the floors again (we had a disasterous party on saturday night and they are still sticky/muddy after three washes  ).
After that I plan to follow the american political coverage so could be a long day or three
Also better get the washing machine on....again!
have a good day everyone x
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

Good Morning All
Hester - I hope some more work turns up for OH
Bethebee - everything will be fine - you are good though having that amount of people!
The weather here is disgusting, misty and drizzle.
Have a load in the wm (its fixed:j :j ) & bm is on with a loaf. When that is done will make some dough and practise making rolls in the Remoska, will try freezing half the dough also.
Am in the office this morning but will rush and get out asap. OH will hoover and wash the floors, I [STRIKE]want[/STRIKE] need to clean the bathrooms. Also would like to try and make the carrot cake I have been trying to make for over a week.
Pork kebabs with onion rice and pitta for dinner, probably sandwich for lunch.
Have a great day.

Morning peeps
very foggy outside here again today, not quite as thick as yesterday though.
I didn`t get the baking done yesterday as i got quite absorbed in some cleaning so i just carried on with that instead. After quite a lot of reading i bought a dehumidifier yesterday, good thing for the house - bad thing for the electricity bill but if i run it at night only then it should be ok. I put it on last night and i was shocked to see how much water had been collected this morning, it did seem noticably warmer too without all the moisture in the air so i`m hoping that it will turn out to be a good buy after all the consideration that was put into the purchase.
Both pairs of matching curtains are now finally up in the living room :j
It`s taken me ages to alter them, get them hemmed and washed and ironed but now it`s all finished, the ones in the bay look a bit strange when they are closed as they don`t gather like the ones on the straight window but it`s saved me a good bit of money so i`m happy with that, the curtains that i altered are around 20 years old and to look at them you would never guess, they are from our last house hence all the altering
Today i`m off to have my eyes tested and also to take advantage of the 2 for one offer at the opticians, i can claim back all of what i spend from my health insurance so although the initial outlay will be there i won`t feel guilty as i know it`s all going to be replaced in the good old bank account
Blairweech - Your new cabinet looks lovely! it is exactly the same as one that my nan used to have, only the colouring is different ( hers was cream and red) you are so lucky!
Heidiboo - Loved the pics of Sydnee, she is lovely.
Bethebee - Belated congratulations on your 40 years together - enjoy the next 40
Diva - Thanks for posting the recipe for honey buns yesterday, i`m going to have to make some now as the recipe made my mouth water  my baking list is getting longer.
Jayward - ((((Hugs)))) to you, hope that you feel a little better today, we all have days when we feel old. Sorry that you`ve had a rough time lately.
I am now going to drag myself off the sofa and into the kitchen to put the kettle on and then wen i`ve made my cuppa i shall dash back to the sofa
The OSing today will start when i get back from the opticians.
Have a good one peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon
