Just thought that I would post an update. We are now all carroted out, the dogs have developed an orangey tinge and for those who may be tempted to try it, birds won't eat them (not the ones around here anyway). There are still some remnants in the fridge, haunting me.....0

Can you not freeze them to chuck in curries/casseroles etc ?A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Hello,
I have a LOT of carrots that I'd like to use up. Problem is, my freezer is already full of soup and I'm not a fan of carrot cake.
Any ideas?0 -
I'd grate, portion and freeze them then they are there when you make another batch of soup. Not very inventive but it's the best I could think of!I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0

Carrot wine?
Or you could skip he wine part & just boil the carrots.
We used to make this (4lb carrots for 1 gallon of wine.Lots of recipes there if you google) The great thing is, you just scrub/top &tail the carrots, then boil.
You only use the boiling liquid for the wine.
We used to just cool the cooked whole carrots, and wrap them in foil with a bit of butter then pop them in the freezer. Then just take out as many as required & heat up in the oven. They were gorgeous.0 -
