So thats me for a few more days :j
Good to see you still 'on top of things' PaP. :T
I'm just getting ready for another ASDA shift (that's 7 shifts in 8 days :shhh: :shhh:).
Working for ASDA is like waiting for a bus - when you need one there's never one about, then they all come at once. :rolleyes:

Hi everyone. Just thought I would do a mini update before payday. Decorating has been completed and my room is much nicer and really brighter. Did have to buy some finger guards to put around my light switch. I had one before using some of the wallpaper but this time it looked out of place so that was an extra cost. However it was decorated for only £23.48 which is super cheap :beer:
I am still atempting the 50% idea but I have decided I will have to wait until payday to transfer the amount across to my savings. This is because I have spent way too much this month and have nothing left untill payday. On payday I will post my spends list before transfering it across but so far I have spent £27.94 so thats £13.97 that needs to go into savings :T
I also want to atempt another challenge and get back to when I was in debt and only spend the £5 a week. I cant understand why I spend so much now considering I have all my packet food and a supply of water. I just feel like I am going down that path of 'well I earnt it spend it' which is fine in itself but when does it stopI also find myself browsing haunts I used to before I fell off the wagon and then started back in debt so this has to stop now! So I will be stripped back to £5 a week aside from the three parcels I send monthly as they cost about £3 each. So in order to do this I think on payday I will transfer everything except bills, CD, my £5's and an extra £15 for the parcels into my savings. It will mean I cant complete the PaD challenge but having money floating is tempting me too much.
Also on a side note I wanted a new game for my DS and instead of buying yet another new one I decided to trade in my old games. So game offered me £40 in cash for 10 games or £81 in store credit. I went for the latter and managed to get the game I wanted pre-owened for £9.99 :j That leaves £71 on the gift card which I will either use myself or add £29 and that will be my little brothers xmas gift.
So thats me, for a few more days... well 10 to be exact when its pay day :T Although next month will be a tight one due to reduced pay :rolleyes: Nevermind though at least I am still debt free :j But alas I didnt meet my first savings target this monthI am quite sad about that but nevermind. Next month should be it...

Hi pap:)
Good news on the decorating hun, thats really cheap!
I agree you should do what works for you. PAD is a brilliant idea but doesnt work for everyone! Excellent result on your DS games! My DS is broken at the moment and needs fixing, will cost me £40 to fix so am leaving it for the moment!November NSD's - 70 -

Well done on the room, PaP. :T :T
The £5 'challenge sounds really hard, though, so whilst I wish you every success in all of your challenges, please don't 'overdo' it.

Jamie, thanks although you are the queen of decorating
Yes PaD is fab but temptation is so hard and I would rather remove that than keep up with a 'challange'. Yep the ds games were fabby, I usually put them on ebay but lately they arnt selling for much and the listing time etc put me off, thsi is a good compromise. So sorry to hear about your poorly ds, and wow £40 to fix thats a lot seeing as you can now get an original for £60 if you shop around. I was tempted to save for a dsi but I didnt see much point as my ds is fine and except for some added features it does the job :T
Rog, Thanks, I couldnt believe how cheap it was when I totted it up so I was super pleased. I suppose 'payless' paint and b&q reductions helped. I dont mind though as it does the job. I am planning to keep this for at least 5years now (unless I move beore) so it should be cost worthy.
Thanks for your concern but I have done the £5 thing before (moozie challenge) and it does work. I am quite fortunate as I have stock of shower stuff and lady items so I could live on nothing for a few months if I try real hard. But to be honest just now it will be a push just to get £5 a week. Next month is a 5 week month so it will effectively cost me an extra £40 for cd products :mad: So I am going to be very surprised if I even have anything extra to save at all :rolleyes:
~~~~
Anyways here is my proposed budget next month. As of 4 weeks ago we have been told no overtime will be avalible for a very long time and effectively we are all back to basic wageThis leave me with approx £450 a month after my deductions...
August ~ Total = £425.32
£120.00 ~ Rent
£13.00 ~ House ins
£12.50 ~ Line rental
£22.00 ~ Bus ticket
£15.75 ~ SU club
£200.00 ~ food packs
£17.07 ~ 50% saves
£15.00 ~ postage
£20.00 ~ spends
So yeah thats me, I will barely be able to save £25 this month but thats life. I am not even thinking about the months to come because its so tight that I cant see any way around saving for holiday and christmas. I am sure I can figure something out though ~ I always do :j
Of course you will PAP
How much longer are you on CD for? That'll free up quite a chunk once you go back to part-food, won't it?
Ahhh eveything will come right soon, I am superpap after all :rotfl: Regarding CD I dont really know, if you asked me three weeks ago the reply would have been totally different. In my 'up and coming budgets' I have it budgeted untill December, and to get to goal it will be 5 months (approx), so yes DecemberSo quite a while yet, I then plan to buy food seperatly (as opposed to giving Mum grocery money) and my rent will go back up to £140. However I think I could prob buy my monthly food for £40 so I will save approx £120 :eek: However it is my choice to do CD and although its a pain cost wise its working and thats all I am really worried about just now. So savings/spending money will just have to go on hold.
Here are my budgets for the next 5 months (without spends/postage money as budgetted for this month) so it will be hard to achive all of what I need to but its what I choose to do. But its not totally impossible, at least I can cover the basics its just xmas I am worried about. Although I have decided to lower the gift amounts to £50 this year. So I need two more gifts (token gifts approx £8) and 2* £50 in gift cards/cash, my lil brother will have the game gift card one I have either spent £20 or maybe I will give him the whole £70. So again not impossible on my budgets, I could prob get £50 in Oct and Nov but considering I have usually sorted xmas by around September I am getting worried but
September ~ Total = £420.90
October ~ Total = £357.95 *will need holiday money at this rate though*
November ~ Total = £397.90
December ~ Total = £420.90 *although this CD course takes me up until the 15th (ish) of January*
But alas I will keep on Plodding :beer:0 -
