  • Hi all, thought I could do with an update :rotfl:

    Got my first Ou assignment back ~ 58% not too bad I thought. I mucked up part A which i knew about although he said I had found a very good trend. He loves my writing style though so thats all good. I just need to get at least 60% on the others to pass :D

    So holiday booked, I saved £100 and I had £200 left over. I have been shopping today and spent a bit. There is an offer on in Argos just now for two £15 itune vouchers for £20. That was too good to miss so I did buy them, and two games on my Argos card although it will either be cleared this month (more than likely) or next. Its on 0% for 3 months regardless but with my overtime next month it will be cleared. I also brought my train tickets for the Weymouth meet. Due to lack of places to stay and the cost for an extra day I decided to just travel down on the Sunday. This saved nearly £70 and I still get to go. I also brought myself a few bits that I have wanted/needed for ages but the funds wernt there so a new purse, drinking bottle, hairbands and some fragrance oils.

    However the big unexpected spend this month was a new payg mobile. A month or so ago I changed my number (sim) for various reasons but one was that my sim kept cutting out and thus I couldnt make calls. This was only solved by taking the phone appart and licking (ewww) the sim. Anyways Mum dropped it into Orange to see if they can fix it (obviously I would be charged for this). Well the phone cost £20 2 years ago and they wanted £40 to just look at it :eek: Usually I would just get it fixed but this wasnt really cost effective. So I found a phone I liked but it was out of my price range £99. So while I was out today I thought I wouuld take a look at whats around. Well I found the phone I wanted for £70 ~ downside it was pink. However I decided to go back to orange and see what they could offer. Well they had my phone in black for £58 but you had to top up with £10 airtime... Again I couldnt really turn down that offer... so I snapped it up. Plus the £10 will last me over 2 months :rotfl:

    So now with all that money going out I have £130 left. Thats perfectly fine and most of that will go to argos and then the remainder will go into savings. perfect eh.

    So thats me, the end of another week. I am off on holiday soon so will be spending the time studying and ebaying I think :rotfl:

    Hiya PAP. Well for just a bit more than getting a phone repaired you have got a brand new one!

    I saw on the O2 website that they offer a 30 day contract for just under a tenner a month and you get something like 150 minutes & 300 texts! That's better than my contract at £15 a month!! (I had to get a new phone last year and that was the best deal I could get at the time to get a new phone 'free').

    Good news that you still get to go to Weymouth - I guess with the money you saved that's the phone sorted?

    Good luck with the rest of your assignments and it is really good that the Tutor (?) likes your writing style - nice feedback!

    Take care.

  • Thanks Bookie and Beainie :A

    Baytree, I have a filter jug now its fab and I would never go back to stuff out of the tap. I would get a tap fitted but the cost isnt viable plus I live in a council house which doesnt help. Thanks ever so though.

    La, hello, yes mad about the phone eh. I am usually all for repairing before throwing but this time it wasnt possible. However I have sent my old moblie to environphone so should get £5 back :T I used to have a contract phone a few years ago, but I dont use it that much. The man actually asked when I was in the shop how much I usea month... I said about £10 every three months and he couldnt believe it. Mine is an emergency phone nand tbh I havent got that many people texting me anyways :D

    Yep, that covered the phone and I have saved some of it and I have just over £100 left... so not doing too badly. If the hotels in Weymouth were cheaper and the trains too it wouldnt have been a problem. One day down there is fine though :D Thansk regarding the assignments, I dont know if I will pass or not but I am hopefull, the next few is on debts and stuff so thats cool :rotfl:

    Take care too, I am keeping up with your diary :j

    Beanie, Bournemouth is about 20km away from Weymouth. Its the next 'kinda' town.

    ~~~~~
    So I am still plodding. Did go to ikea Tuesday but only spent £4 on some vases, candles and plants so thats cool. I have also sold a fair bit of my craft stuff, I am now down to only a few drawers so thats really cool. I am glad in a way I have 'grown out' of making cards. One of the wedding invites have fallen through so that leaves one more to do this year and then no more :T I still make some craft stuff though so keeping a bit.
    I have £101.08 left now... although I will use some of that for postage. However I have £30 in my paypal account which is fab. I am hoping to raise enough to clear the itunes cards I put on my argos account before payday :T Oh and I have some things to ebay too. Cant pay anything off just now though because I need my latest statement :mad:
    So thats me ~ Keep Plodding All :j :j :j
  • Keep Plodding Beanie :T
    Well I have only gone and done it ~ £157.43 sat in paypal ready to pay off Argos (sat at £96) :beer: I still have quite a bit to sell too so I am putting whats left on ebay next week. I have spent £9.62 on postage so far, although thats covered with the money I have recieved. I guess I will have to spend another £15 tommorow on postage.. but still I have plenty to cover Argos... See I knew those itunes had to be brought and by some miracle its covered :j I am going to save any extra :j
    On a side note I am on holiday as of Saturday night :j Little did I know Mum is off the same week :rolleyes: So we are going to Wooky Hole one day and I will get her down town another :T
    Happy Plodding Pap :j :j
  • Hi all, another mini update :j I am still holiding out for the 1st when the last of the bills will be payed and I should get my Argos statement :T Anyways account situation is one of ~
    *Spends account £108.94 ~ all accounted for (postage, meal packs & Argos)
    *Bills account £213.34 ~ bills £112.66 = £100.68 left
    However I have £70 to go into my bills account tommorow and I have transferred £157.43 from paypal. Thats a total of £328.11 as spare :T Now £95 needs to go to Argos as soon as I get the statement, I will need about £30 when we go to wookey hole, thats entrance for me and Mum (will buy the tickets tonight online as they are cheaper ;)) and petrol in the car.
    That will leave £203... I know my friend wants to go to town sometime this week so I 'may' purchase somethings down there, I need some new nightdresses and some smaller trousers so we shall see. I am off work for a while so I am hoping the bus ticket I have here will last, if not that will be £22 before payday. Oh and then there is the obvious postage :rotfl:
    So if I was to save at least £100 before payday I will be over the moon :T This would mean I have nearly covered xmas and then its onto saving for my spends while on holiday. Next months budget is looking fab. I should have approx £50 + overtime to save which is all fabby :j
    Keep Plodding All :j :j :j
  • Hi all, thought I would do a mini update thingie (again. Argos still hasnt sent the statement :mad: But such is life eh :rotfl:
    Went to wookey today and on the way home I decided to stop and get some nightdresses and trousers as it would seem we wont be going to town :confused: I have also been rather naught and spent more while I was there and I have also purchased some bags from esty :shhh: However its only a tiny treat (£35 for 2 bags plus shipping from the states), it's handmade so original pieces and they wernt that expensive compared to bags over here. So after paying everything plus Argos I will have £100.93... So if I went with my earlier savings predictions I would have 93p left :rotfl: Obviously this isnt going to happen now so thats ok... it also puts my savings back but to be honest I am not overly bothered. At the moment I am not stressing if I buy something and thus save less, My attitude has completely changed and I wont stress if I dont have £100's saved. However that doesnt mean I can spend like its going out of fashion. I think that will be it for this month now anyways as I have nothing to buy/do.
    Oh except the obvious postage ~ I really think I should budget this now really :rolleyes: Its not so much the ebay/selling postage but its the postage sending of little gifts and cards and being on swap-bot. So I think I need to set a budget for this each month...
    In other news Morrisons has a promotion on just now that if you spend £25 you get a book of vouchers. One voucher is 40% off a Haven holiday as long as its booked by August (although I havent checked the t&C in detail yet). So I may book our holiday for May if that is the case. I would have to pay in installments though but thats not too bad as I will only lose a £20 early bird discount but the 10% in quidco and the 40% off isnt something I can turn down... however I will let you know what happens on that one.
    So thats me...
    Keep Plodding All :j :j
