    Any news on the application front anyway?

    Sorry PaP - still waiting - still applying for other jobs - and still 'plodding'. :o

    Good news on the OU grant, PaP :T :T - Please don't feel that you don't 'deserve it'. It is exactly what they say it is - a grant, pure and simple. You are fully entitled to it and it will help take some of the 'financial' worry off of your mind, so that you can concentrate more on your studies.

    And well done on the weight loss - I don't feel any 'different' for having shed 3 stone - well, I do feel fitter, can exercise without getting tired and people tell me I look younger and better :rolleyes:

    The only time that I really feel 'different' is when I try on my old clothes - the jackets feel like a bell tent and I can almost walk through my old jeans. :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Rog, just keep plodding :T Never thought of it like that you know, it will defiantly help finacially. Wow 3 stone Rog well done, do you think its something in the adsa choc ;) :rotfl: Shame about your old clothes though, thats one big downside for me :rolleyes:

    Right so I have payed of Argos and I have spent £13.31 on water (yes so fantastic eh :rotfl:). All the bills have gone and some postage sent so I have £101.42 left. I have more parcels to send tomorow but that shouldnt cost more than £15. I have also sold some craft stuff ~ except the big item :mad: so have £43 in paypal :T

    Nothing really to buy before payday. However I need some work shoes, I have holes in mine just now. I have been putting off buying them for 2 months now so I am planning to buy some next monday. However I only spend about £10 on them so thats not too bad. Also I may treat myself and buy myself some original crocs. Going to try and find a cheap price first :T

    Keep plodding all :j :j
  • Hi all, thought I would update.

    Not much going on really... The money still hasnt hit my Argos card I guess it will be monday now. I have also spent some money buying a few new books (£15), postage (£20) (international) and donations (£20). I did buy some crocs but I used my paypal money. So as it stands today I have £35 in my bank and £15 in my purse. I have listed some more craft stuff online and I am planning to ebay this weekend :j

    Other than that I am just ploding :j
  • Hi all a bit :T and :mad: today.

    Firstly I have got payed so I can start payings bills etc with is fabby (see updated soa below). Also Argos has cleared so apart from mums freezer that is clear. However I have just come home and had a letter stateing they have closed my locked saver :mad: This is because I didnt put the required £25 last month... well in fairness I have barely been putting in £5 a month for the last 3 months because of finances, so I was expecting it... But and this is what has baffled me.. They have sent some of it to my main bank account and put some in my ISA :rolleyes: :rotfl: Why I dont know... but anyways...

    £120.00 ~ Rent
    £13.00 ~ House ins
    £12.50 ~ Line rental
    £63.00 ~ internet
    £22.00 ~ Bus ticket
    £21.00 ~ SU club
    £15.00 ~ Target treat
    £160.00 ~ Meal packs

    Total = £426.50
    Left = £272.37

    So thats me, the two 'big' things coming up now is holiday with mum in October that needs paying. But I will have just enough with what the other bank has sent me (well I think I will be missing £3). So thats covered. And I am also going to go to a mini meet in Weymouth at the end of july. That will cost £22 train and approx £80 for two nights in b&b. I am awaiting final instructions and seeing if there is any space in the b&b's down there before I commit though. Either way I will have approx £160 'spare'. I haven't allocated postage or any 'me money' though. I am hoping I can put at least £70 of that into savings but I would like to get a small list of items. However we will see how we go within the month.

    I am a bit worried as that reduces my savings considerably however I still have about 1/2 a months wages and once July is over and I finish CD the amount I will save will shoot up.

    So yeah thats me :rotfl:

    Happy Plodding All :j :j :j

    Hiya PAP, long time no see!

    I have just finished reading this thread....it's only taken me a few hours :rotfl:

    Well now PAP, you're an inspiration (like hypno too who I have also had a bit of a catch up with) aren't you? How you exercise such discipline is beyond me. I wish I had an ounce of what you have when it comes to the saving & the extra payments & the 'no overdraft' thing too. Just.....fantastic.

    Good luck with the Cambridge Diet. I am guessing that if your determined approach to finance is applied to CD then you'll be watching yourself disappear in front of the mirror in no time. Go steady though....people need you!

    Hugs PAP, really good to read up on how you are doing.

  • Hiya LA, I was just thinking of you the other day and seeing if your o/d had disappered yet. How are you? What have you been upto?

    Thanks for all the encouragement. Regarding finances its just to ingrained now... I dont think I will ever be mse free :rotfl: As for CD, slowly I am getting there, hopping I may be a counseller for it when I come out the other end :j

    Take care LA and keep popping back ~ miss you :A

    I'm ok thanks hon - OD is still there but I am on a fresh 'kick' to try & get rid of it. I have rambled a bit on my old diary by way of trying to get inspired again and I will try & update it often so we'll see how it goes.

    Being a counsellor for CD - wow, that would be a great thing to aim for and who better to do it than someone who has cracked it themselves? People would really respect that and take encouragement from it. I wish you all the best for it and once again I am impressed by you potentially having another goal.

  • LA ~ Well at least you know what to do to reduce it. I ahve read your diary and you seem really determined to get rid of it now. It depends if My CD counceller will sponsor me but fingers crossed she will. I can only work to goals... I have tunnel vision untill its done :T if I have no goals I get lost :rotfl:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Ok so I thought I would check the holiday price as of today and see what its like. Well the caravan we were going for was £99 instead of £150. However speaking to Mum we decided to go for a caravan with central heating and double glazing (we are going in October) and that was £135. So before the price went up tomorow I booked it ~ through quidco ;) I also did a little bit of downloading and got £10 out the wall for a sponsor (£5) and some money for the tea pot in work.
    So that leaves (after bills etc) £158.12 plus the £144 from the savings muck up. That still gives me £302.12 for the month. I think I can comfortably save £100 covering most of my holiday saves and that then leaves £200 ~ £100 for the July meet thing (again depending) and then £100 for 'extras' although apart from postage and some 'mats' this isnt much :rotfl: I really wanted a new ds game but I have decided to wait untill the price reduces :T So I am aiming for £25 left at the end of the month to save :j
    Also looking futher on in July and August it would seem I could save at least £60 each month :j Perfect :j
    Keep Plodding All ~ Some days the sun will shine on you, other days it will feel as if all that is ahead is storm clouds but keep plodding and you will come out the other side to sun and smiles :T
