I just have been on the phone again because I am fumming about how this is going and the guy was very nice to be honest but said there is nothing they can do, they are aware that there has been a problem and not all the emails have gone out. There will *hopefully* be another statement on the website over the weekend but I will probably have to wait till monday or tuesday to log the fact officially that I have received no email. :(

He did say that this should not slow the payments down, as they should all be completed this month. So we live in hope, or he was just fobbing me off!

Or a short break day trip to Reykjavik including a free guided tour of their landmark banks?

I've always fancied a trip to Iceland I wonder how welcome we'd be having used anti-terrorism laws against them?:rotfl:

Typical, I bet the FSCS guy hasnt got money with Icesave!! On a lighter note, when we do get paid out perhaps we should all get together and celebrate at the "ICE BAR" in London!! Come on email............:rotfl:
The problem is these staff seem to be typical minimum wage call centre worker types drafted in short term. As a result they have almost no sympathy for anyone well paid enough to have substantial savings and also don't seem to identify personally with the aims and objectives of the FSCS.

All the regular senior FSCS staff are in hiding and won't reply to my emails.

I did get a read receipt from Jonathan Clark at FSCS, who is quoted in the press as being in charge of the Icesave repayment project, at 11.01pm last night. But he didn't reply to my email or offer any explanation or apology for the spam email foulup or the disgraceful decision to do us out of the interest we ought to be entitled to after October 7th up to and including the payout date.
  • I should have added that Hector Sants, CEO of the Financial Services Authority, deleted my two emails about Icesave and the junk email and no interest after Oct 7th issues without even reading them yesterday.

I suppose he was far too busy planning his next big weekend jaunt on his half a million a year package to have time to worry about any poxy depositors who might have lost their savings or been chiselled out of interest they were entitled to by the unfair FSCS scheme rules.:mad::naughty:

It was Icesave that took your money in the first place - Not FSCS
This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !

But it was the FSA who licensed them to operate in the UK as a fully paid up UK deposit taker purporting to be fully covered by the FSCS (which they then turned out not to be).
