USB is only used for transferring still picture data stored on memory cards, therefore tends to be found on cameras with this capability. Although USB 2 offers similar speed to the current firewire version in use on camcorders, the firewire port is used for transferring video data.

Bought one of these from Argos today - Usually £300 but £149.99 until 2/12/04.

I reserved mine until close of business Saturday, and was told that I would still pay the price that was current on the day I reserved it. I'm just phoning to check that hasn't changed before I drive over and collect it.

i also reserved one untill 11th of december yeterday..went to pick it up today..ben told its £250

argos staff said to call manager on saturday to see if he could work something for me!

On both R&R and C&C it clearly states that you pay the price in store on the day, so I'd be very surprised if the lower price still stands.

Picked mine up yesterday during lunch break.

Can give it to my sister now after cheekly holding onto the Sony one i brought for her earlier. 8)

I feel a weight has been lifted of my chest.

Hope people managed to get one before the prices went up.

They rang the branch I had originally ordered from, (where it had been out of stock), to confirm I really had been told they would honour the lower price, and I got it for £149.99, as promised.

I think I probably wouldn't have done unless I had asked specifically when I ordered it, though, and it took AGES, but eventually, success. And they were very nice and helpful.

Unfortunately, they couldn't find any reference to previous offers stating that a pack of 5 tapes was included in the offer.

If anyone out there can tell me the media code from the leaflet it originally appeared in, I stand a fairly good chance of getting those retrospectively. Otherwise, no chance at all. So if you have the leaflet, or any details about it, please post!

I'll phone Argos Head Office to see if I can find any more about it, too.

The free tapes came up on their tills when you bought the camcorder.

The code for the tapes that came with it is 570/4923

I never saw a leaflet with the offer, even the camera was not advertised at £149.99

The offer of free tapes can be found in the instore catalogue (where it's priced at 299.99.

I went in and checked the cat b4 I ordered. However at 149.99 I'm surprised they still gave me the tapes.

So I am surprised they can find no record of it!!!!
