Good for you Marigold123
When I collected mine last night they had run out of the free tapes. Tried getting an alternative out of them, but they gave me an IOU on the receipt instead and I have to go and get them when they come back into stockHow do I add a signature?0 -
Reserved one yesterday for my girlfriend and she went to pick it up today, but the price has gone up. Grr.
Will have to keep an eye out for a camcorder for her xmas pressie now.0 -

I too reserved the camcorder at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol when the price was £149, when I went to pick it up at Bedminster Bristol the price had gone up to £249. I stood my ground and argued that, although the ticket states that the price I will pay will be that of the store where collected, if Cribbs Causeway had have had the unit in stock, I would have purchased it there and then. Finally he agreed to let me have the unit for £149.
When I get home, I realised that the receipt did not have the free tapes listed. Back to Bedminster and they said that the till had no record of the offer. I showed them there own laminated insert in their catalogue - and I walked out with 5 tapes too.
Did I really want a cam corder anyway? LOL

lol nice work Andy!! I guess sometimes you have to stand your ground in order for them to take notice.
Welcome to the forums.

The free tapes came up on their tills when you bought the camcorder.
The code for the tapes that came with it is 570/4923
I never saw a leaflet with the offer, even the camera was not advertised at £149.99
Thanks, WillieL, that should do nicely. I'll ring them up and tell them they owe me some tapes, BEFORE I go all the way down there, AND take the name of the person I speak to. I'll quote the names of the stores where people did get their free tapes with the offer. That might make them sit up and take notice.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Cheers!A penny saved is a penny gained0 -
YES!!
Result!
I couldn't get through to the Colliers Wood branch where I bought the camcorder, so I resorted to phoning my local branch again, and the very, very, very nice man there phoned up his Head Office and found out what was what for me. He phoned me back after about 5 minutes and said it looks as though the other branch have made a mistake, you can have the tapes.
He didn't have them in stock, but I can pick them up from there on Thursday, and I can return the pack of extra tapes I bought and get a refund.
I'll have to find something to spend the £10 voucher on before February, but I'm sure I can manage that.
Hooray, and thank you for all the invaluable info, guys!A penny saved is a penny gained0 -

Welcome to the forums,
Unfortunately for you, the offer ended last Thursday. Plenty of them have appeared on ebay (now there's a surprise) selling for around the £200.00 mark (usually without the extra pack of tapes)How do I add a signature?0 -
If you want something really cheap than look on ebay under stores and choose CANON. They have daily offers of refurbished equipments for £100 or £200 with 1 year warranty. Bear in mind that you by from Canon direct so all payment and delivery should be safe.Filiss0
