  • Full details about this camera here:

http://sharp-world.com/products/viewcam/vl-z1/index.html with link to specs. It's not got the "H" after it, but I'm guessing that's a country or region designator.

Totally agree with downshifter98 and Niggy, i.e. it's got everything you need and is a real bargain. When Jeremy Clarkson tests a car, he has a lot to say about its handling and performance that I don't even notice when I'm driving the same model, and I bet it's the same with camcorders - there'll be a handful of people who can tell the difference between this Sharp and a Sony, or another make, but the vast majority of us would be well happy with any.

I recall that this time last year, I was very tempted by a VHS camcorder "down in price" to £150!!

I'm really chuffed that I was able to buy this one yesterday with the free tapes and voucher - thank you again, Sniffer!

I just reserved this camcorder to pick up tomorrow -

now can anyone (who has used this camera) tell me whether its any good? I cant seem to find any decent reviews, but is it worth it?

  • ah well ...enquired earlier today.....not one left in N ireland..oh and this is exempt from argos 16 day money back...I have just found out. To be honest I had the intention of buying it and trying it out....but since none available and no 16 money back that is a non-starter.

    can't win them all I suppose ;D
  • Thanks for this excellent find. Got my AM in nottingham. Great camera prefect for my uni course.

Prepare to be disappointed as the price went back up to £249.99 at closing time today, and the price you pay is the one in store on the day you collect it. :(

ALL photographic type items are exempt to prevent people buying, using for a holiday, then returning.

I just rang around a few stores in the Midlands and some were quoting £249.99 and others £149.99 (these may have been xtra stores).

Out of all the stores only one had any stock. I will see if the instore price is still £149.99 tomorrow.

My local store is an Extra, and I just checked R&R and it's £249.99 now (and out of stock as I got the last one)

The others may be late updating systems or summat.

    joemardo,

You should have read my earlier post on this thread, or checked out the N Ireland boards.

I had four of these reserved, in Bangor, Enniskillen, Lisburn and Portadown, and was offering the reservation numbers to anyone who wanted them.

Not much use to you now, but don't forget that if an item is not covered under 16 day moneyback guarantee, you can always ask to check it out in-store before you buy.
