Im not dishonest - I have been honest with every reply throughout this thread and in my messages to the buyer of my item.

I dont mind her telling anyone that if there item is not recieved through the fault of them not paying/requesting registered mail that they will not get a full refund.

It is not my fault and it is my responsibility to sort this, and I have.

Not everyone is our for what they can get. She knows it isnt my fault she didnt recieve it and thats why we've gone halfs.

You still do not get it. You only got away with 50% refund because your buyer did not pursue you through paypal. The buyer would have go all their money back.. from you. I think this is through ignorance rather than good grace from the buyer

How's that your buyer's fault and why should your buyer lose out financially because of your ignorance? Please explain to me how you find it morally ok to make your buyer pay for your lack of knowledge. I would really love to know.

You should refund your buyer in full, including postage costs. You made the mistake of not getting a COP, thus you should pay the costs of that mistake.

If she wanted a guarentee of recieving her item she should have paid for registered post. end of.

When will you get it into your head...it is your fault the item wasn't sent by registered mail, or that you failed to obtain a COP. It is your responsibility both legally and morally, not the buyer's.

Well everyone on here is telling you YOU are in the wrong, and you are still arguing so there is little point in me saying the same as all the other posters.

As far as Ebay are concerned YOU are at fault 100% as far as all the forum members here are concerned YOU are at fault 100% If it was me I would report you give you the lowest feedback possible and give you a neg as well, so lets just both be happy I have never bought off you.

OK, I will spell this out to you once more, as you really do seem to have a problem understand basic English:

IT IS NOT YOUR BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE ADEQUATE PROTECTION WHEN SENDING ANYTHING IN THE POST. IT IS YOUR LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY AS THE SELLER TO COVER YOURSELF. YOU FAILED TO DO THIS, THUS THE LOSS SHOULD BE YOURS AND YOURS ALONE.

Got it yet? You chose not to send it by recorded delivery. The buyer doesn't have to choose anything, as it's not your buyer in a contract with royal mail. You're the one with the contract with RM to delivery your item to the buyer. Failure to get it delivered means YOU are in breach of contract with your buyer.

I don't believe you are a dishonest seller, but I do believe you are a bad seller.

  • Maybe because you are in the wrong? You have been lucky to come across an ebayer who unfortunately for them is a naive as you are about how the system works. They have sone nothing wrong yet will pay half for your error. Its a CD pay the money back after allowing sufficient time for any delays.
