Help! Buyer Did Not Recieve Item
Comments
-
If you purchasd a CD from Amazon and it did not arrive, who would you expect to put it right ?
If something gets lost in the post then its unfair on the buyer and seller, but ultimately someone has to sort it out and convention (and probably the law) says its the sellers responsibility.
You should always get a proof of posting (and if you don't then more fool you) - this will cover you up to £35 - use recorder or registered if the value is above this.
recorded doesnt offer higher compensation levels0 -
No, you are right - just proof of delivery, so useful if you have a "bad feeling" about a buyer or its a high risk item such as a mobile.
Please no no no. You are more likely to have an item go astray in the post than you are to have a dodgy buyer so items must be sent using the appropriate service. Items over £36 must go special.
Out of interest you might also want to check out the seller protection requirements on paypal for goods over £150.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. recorded is only ok for mobiles when they are worth £36 or less.
any item worth over £36 should be sent by special delivery or courier for heavy items0 -

Yes, thats what I was trying to say.
The cost of special delivery is from £4.60, so there is a point at the just above £36 mark where you need to decide if you want to spend that or take the risk of having your claim from the RM capped.
Obviously, if you expect it to sell for more that £36 then you will have included it within your postage charge to the buyer, but if you are pleasantly surprised with the selling price then you have a call to make.
I have to say in my several years of selling, I've never had any item lost in the post (or a seller claiming it either) - perhaps I am just lucky.0 -
Take this on the chin and stop the whining. You posted something, it goes missing and you expect the buyer to suffer the loss?
When she didnt pay for recorded delivery, yes I do.
I pay for recorded delivery on all the items I buy because of this reason.
She just got back to me anyway and we're going halfs, so if she hasnt got it by next saturday i'll be sending her half her money back.
it is the fairest way0 -
If you accept paypal as payment, you also accept the T&C's of paypal. You might want to look them up before you accept payment with paypal or pay with paypal.0

I dont use those sites and besides, we're talking about ebay here so why mention the other sites.frivolous_fay wrote: »...if you're a buyer who doesn't know your rights.
or shes just a really nice person wanting to do the right thing. as i said in a previous post she took 2 weeks to pay for one of the cds i sent her and 3 weeks to pay for the other. being nice works both ways, and its good that not everyone just thinks about #1 (themselves)0 -
its not fair on the buyer at all0
