Help! Buyer Did Not Recieve Item

She says that if she doesnt get the next one by next week, she wants a refund. BUT as I pointed out to her, she didnt pay for insurance (signed for) so its not my fault that it got lost in the mail, I clearly stated in the item description, "IF YOU DO NOT PAY FOR POSTAL INSURANCE THEN I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ITEMS GOING MISSING IN THE POST. I RECOMMENED THAT YOU ALWAYS USE REGISTERED POSTING."
Sorry to say, but you may well have been "plucked" - it's a term used by dodgy buyers who specifically look for sellers with that phrase in their listings. It's fraudulent, but these people call it "educational".
There is pretty adequate seller protection available, but you have to abide by the Paypal T&C's for it to work - the details are here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=14589141&postcount=19<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
no you cant,RM may provide some form of compensation at their discretion
I'm not sure what's being stated here - RM may provide some form of compensation at their discretion with a receipt or without a receipt? If without a receipt then surely it is worth lodging a claim?Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -

I did have that worry myself, I noticed a slightly worrying trend on some of the boards about targetting people like this almost 'to teach them a lesson'.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i quoted you saying no you cant
so without proof of posting you cannot claim compensation
RM may compensate you but its usually in the form of some stamps
if you could claim without it then why bother with a proof of posting?0 -

what do you mean by plucked? that shes just pretending she didnt get it? it seems strange that she got the 1st one ok, and they were sent on the same day.
thanks for all the info guys. im just waiting for her to get back to me. if shes adamant that she wants a refund i'll have to do it. i just hope she'll wait till after rent day! can i block her from bidding on anthing else that i sell?0 -
Don't take it too personally - there are over 55,000 other listings out there that they could also go for.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

Thanks for clearing that up - so they may compensate with stamps if you make a claim without a proof of postage - better than a poke in the eyeBaby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
Take this on the chin and stop the whining. You posted something, it goes missing and you expect the buyer to suffer the loss?0

If you purchasd a CD from Amazon and it did not arrive, who would you expect to put it right ?
If something gets lost in the post then its unfair on the buyer and seller, but ultimately someone has to sort it out and convention (and probably the law) says its the sellers responsibility.
You should always get a proof of posting (and if you don't then more fool you) - this will cover you up to £35 - use recorder or registered if the value is above this.0
