selling your stuff on Amazon...part 2

My sales have picked up this week. I have sold 8 items since Monday, but one today is a terrible deal (for me) - paid 75p for the book but the postage will be £2.71, so before packaging and going to Post Office etc. I will make 42 pence!
However a book I bought for 50p ages ago, finally sold and the profit was £9.20 so you have to take the rough with the smooth!:)
Sorry to hear the bad luck some of you have had recently, especially the book that has not turned up - lets hope it gets there soon - £18.00 is a lot of money to refund.:(Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

How do you know they are telling the truth? My experience of RISI people is not good there appear to be many who are seeking to get books without fulfilling their part of the deal.
Has anyone had dealings with "ads_afc"? I sent him a book two weeks ago but am yet to receive the book I asked for and am being fobbed off. He has asked for two more swaps but obviously I will be declining them.0 -
I'm tempted to believe him, I have a trusting nature, it may be naive but it takes more room in my head to go through the ramifications of who's screwing who so I'd sooner give him the cheque for £2.76 and move on to the next thing.
edit - I've swapped over 60 books so far and this is the only 'no-show' so I'm not too concerned0 -
Must say this Read It Swap it thing is great. Have sent off 20 books since Monday. Only had 4 back so far. Here's waiting for the next 16 to arrive!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

i've had this happen and i have given him more than what i paid in postage
you're far more generous than i am AT
i think you'll be hard pressed to prove the value of this book to royal mail so you won't be able to claim back it's value they're b*stards like that, i've had problems with swapping items before and unless you show something showing how much the person paid for it they don't want to give you anythingfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -

Must say that with my missing amazon book I don't believe them, never had a problem to date. I think they must know that I don't have COP as it has stamps on not the post office 1st class postage sticker. Will have to refund them though. Have learned my lesson all sold books from now on will be going recorded so at least I'll know if they've been signed for. £18 is a lot to refund!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

HOL, I hadn't planned on claiming from the PO, I'm must be getting soft in my old age but I have made a very nice profit on these swap books, as well as gaining some nice ones for ourselves to keep so I'm taking a very laid back attuitude to this and letting it all wash over me.......am I too old to become a hippy now I'm 50?0

i've got someone who will not return any email to me
granted i got her book off late and told her as much as soon as i could however i still haven't received her side of the swap even though i mentioned not having received it in both of the emails i sent
she contacted me about the swap too which really irritates me
i have noticed that people tend to send slower than the 2 days which doesn't bother me too much as i think that 2 days is a bit much to ask since most people have busy lives outside of RISI! however, i do wish they'd allow us to email the people before the 7 day period as i would have liked to been able to tell her immediately that there was going to be a delay and whyfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
