selling your stuff on Amazon...part 2

i've got several shelves in a bookcase dedicated to mine, and several drawers in an old dresser for my cds and dvds
i used to keep them in tubs but it was such a pain moving them all around the time just to find the ones i wanted plus they sometimes got damaged
now i just scan the shelf (or drawer) til i find what i want then i just grab it and away i go!
if you have space anywhere to fit in a new book case (and entire IVAR system from ikea is only £35 for floor to ceiling storage and completely adjustable and expandable) i highly recommend this way of storing the books, it's just sooo much easier!founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
With several thousand books already my house would look like a library if I added any more book cases. The last time we moved house we had to get a specialist quote due to what they considered an exccesive quantity of books for a normal move!
Now you see why I am so desperate to get rid of some of them. :j

So soolin, if you are meant to be getting rid of them, why are you buying more from auctions?:rotfl:

I have just noticed that 1p paperbacks, are not always what they seem. I have just spotted a couple of books that I initially wrote off as worth only 1p, but when I looked closly at the listings I discovered that the first few listings at 1p were all from the USA, and the first copy of the book available in the UK was for sale for £2.50. So make sure you read the available used section carefully!0

your house sounds exactly like mine soo!
we have a library of consisting of NINE of the ivar 7 foot book shelves (each is about2.5 feet wide i think) so i do know what you mean!
we have also had many complaints when moving...we always help though so they usually shut up in the end... also i always tell them how many books we have in advance!
just wish dh would let me sell off some of his books... we have some signed first edition edwin morgan books that i would love to sell! and all the technical books he has would fund dd's uni education :eek:founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
Sorry to go off on a tangent. What are these revered IVAR systems?
Searched the Ikea site and it brings up small cabinets and a chair! Would love a couple of these, can anyone give an exact product description? Many ThanksI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

well just got home from a run to the post office and the 3 closest charity shops to me
i thought i'd been clever because right before i left, when i had everything in my bag, shoes on etc i checked to see if i'd sold any last items on ebay or amazon and yes i had sold a dvd on amazon that i only listed last night
so i packaged that up too and off me and the munchkin went
picked up some great deals on books that if all else fails will be better quality books for read it swap it.
got back... wouldn't you know it, sold another one! oh well, at least it was a high value one :T
so i'll be back to the post office AGAIN tomorrow!
i shouldn't complain, i'm getting quite addicted really
does anyone else get that little adrenalin rush as you sit down at the computer with your books and type in the isbn numbers to see how much you might make off them?founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
After the palaver of the sale being cancelled my dvd has now been sold and I got the right email :T
Went charity shopping yesterday and gambled some cash on 2 text books which I have now listed - they seem to be worth a bit but can you tell if any have sold recently?Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain - and most fools do.0 -
well that's my new books/audio books/cd's sorted out
3 cd's and 2 books for ebay
1 cd, and audio book and a book for amazon
and 11 new books for RISI, some more interesting ones that will hopefully interest those with the books i'm after
quite pleased as all said and done just from the ebay and amazon stuff alone i stand to make about £35 profit :Tfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0
