I sold a childrens story cassette for £19.50 on Saturday. I couldn't believe it! It just shows that people are prepared to pay good prices. I'm going to look for some more now.

ooh that's got me thinking local charity shop has toy story one and two audio cassettes... wonder if those would do well!

I had a Barbara Taylor Bradford book and went on to check if it might, by some slim chance, be worth more than a penny...while looking I noticed an audio book of the same novel selling for...£55!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i did pretty good doing some charity shopping today

i managed to pick up two copies of the same book, i knew they'd sell as i just posted one off to france today! they were 40p so i'll make about 2.50 off each one

then i managed to pick up a lovely slimming world hardback cookbook that should net me about £15 but only paid £1.50 for it

picked up a few text books too for £1.50 each and they're going for £15-20!

also kept a note of some isbn's and titles and came home to look them up
only one is worth much but it's about £25 for only £1.50 so i'll pick that up tomorrow. also, dh said that the students union has students selling of their coursebooks so he's going to go again tomorrow, call me and give me isbn numbers so i can look them up and tell him if i want them or not!

also picked up some stuff that will go down well on ebay!

and even found 3 new pieces for my dd's school uniforms (it's her first year this august) so i'm well pleased

    few questions

    first of all

i have a book that has TWO isbn numbers

it's just a single book not part of a set
i checked both numbers and they look identical except that one seemed to be published later in the same year (december) and that one oddly enough has LESS pages than the earlier edition in the same year

i listed it as the first one since it had that many pages and fortunately that copy is worth more but i thought that was bizarre

also, what to do with a book with NO isbn number? it's a centennial edition of the power of positive thinking by norman vincent peale... pristine and only 50p! BUT it has no isbn number!

i've found every search i can think of and can't find it on amazon though i can find other editions  i should be able to sell it on ebay but why can't i find an isbn number? it's not a book club edition either

i've been all through the first 10 pages or so, checked the back everything

and also, someone mentioned selling cassettes, well i found a pristine box set of 2 cassettes and a booklet with all the words for a production of puccini's la boheme and jose carreras is the lead male so i figured it was worth the £2 i paid for it, i'm wanting to see what it goes for on amazon but don't know what numbers i'm needing to put in instead of an isbn number

it was actually manufactured in france so do you think that it may not be listed anyway? i've no doubt i can sell it on ebay and i already have quite a few repeat buyers for all the classical cd's i've sold off recently but i'd like to get an idea of what prices i could get from amazon

I can never find the numbers on CDs, vids or tapes...I'm a bit daft really!!! I just search for the artist or title, find the closest match and make sure I describe it REALLY well. :D

i went out yesterday looking for books to sell and snagged a slimming world one for £1.50

hasn't been listed 24 hours yet and it sold! i got the slimming world mixed up with another one when i posted about it last night, only got me £9.50 but that's still a good profit!

picked up another book today, a technical one for £1 was pleased to see it's worth about £12 :T

    audio books

how do you sell these? i picked up a copy of tess of d'urbervilles read by martin shaw, thought it would go down well... can't find that particular one listed on ebay even though i used the isbn number i found several other versions but not that one! don't want to sell it on ebay instead as i'll make a loss so how do i go about getting this one in?

i'd think with these it might make a big difference who reads them

can't find my puccini la boheme version either  everything BUT this one and it's jose carreras too! any ideas? this is two audio cassettes with a lovely booklet in french, english, italian and german, it's got the story, historical facts, photos in colour and b&w and all the words/script! i should think it would take someones fancy they have one on cd that's selling for £57 made by the same company so i think it may be worth at least £15-20 but how can i list it if amazon won't cooperate?

    Hi everyone,

I've had a couple of successes recently. A business book that I bought in pristine condition for £1.50 sold for £9.99. A swap-it book also sold. My swap-its have been going mad recently. I only do it as a hobby but I just love it when I get those Sold - Despatch Now emails. My work colleagues think I am mad trudging to the post office at lunchtime but whatever, it keeps me out of mischief!

    I'm a happy bunny today!
Firstly I got a pending at the weekend and emailed the potential buyer as suggested on here. He emailed back to say he was having problems getting his payment to go through but that he definitely wanted the book - and now the sale has gone through.
Secondly I swapped one of my 1p books and have just sold the one I swapped for - for £10. It wasn't even a text book, just a slightly weird novel!
