oooh i'd never thought to sell vinyl or cassettes on amazon!
i've sooo got to try this by the way we just today picked up a stereo with a record player so we can now test all our vinyl and sell it on, dave's got a picture disc of nirvana that we're hoping will go for a pretty penny
also he's got a lp of a band who's cd went recently for £36 (that's about the norm too) so the lp should be even better!
i regularly see lps on ebay in the £30 range but i'll see which i think i can do better on before sellingfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -

Hi Soo and all
I keep losing this topicbut I'll sort that out later.
I just wondered if, as Soolin has had, a sale pending, as a few of us have, then we've looked at it after the customary 72 hours, lowered the price slightly, and it's sold straight away?
It's happened twice this week. One was a book worth about £25 and the other was about £4. In both cases I lowered the price slightly, and they sold as soon as I relisted it. Am I being paranoid in thinking this is a subliminal effort to make me look at the price again and reduce it?0 -
It has never occurred to me to lower the price after a "pending" so it wouldn't work on me!!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0

Same here, but I have been known to put the price up0 -
I sold a childrens story cassette for £19.50 on Saturday. I couldn't believe it! It just shows that people are prepared to pay good prices. I'm going to look for some more now.0

May I ask how you list them. Is it by the number and it then comes up as an audio cassette? It is just that I have never seen any listed. thanksGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

SOmeone ordered one of my videos, it was during the time a few days ago when things were all a bit weird. I didnt get any email (only knew something had sold as there was one less in my invertory). A couple of days later I got an email from amazon saying the payment was pending. Then nothing else and when I went to search the listing today it now says its been canceled
Can anyone explain whats happened please?
Thanks tonsAny fool can criticize, condemn, and complain - and most fools do.0 -

This is one of those totally annoying things that can happen from time to time. Have a read back on the threads and you will find us all moaning about it.
In short, it is when the payment doesn't go through properly for whatever reason, card details incorrect, bank don't allow payment etc. The buyer gets emailed by Amazon telling them they will have to try paying again. Seller gets the email you got.
Amazon advise the seller to leave the item as closed for 3 days to give the buyer a chance to sort out the problem. After that time if it hasn't gone through, you can relist.
Therefore in the situation you describe, it sounds like more than 3 days have passed without the transaction being completed so you can go into your closed items and relist it.
Some of us here go into the transactions history and find the email address of the "buyer" (you have to search the pending transactions) and email them to see whether they still want the book so that we can relist earlier if they say no. I find more often than not that emailing them helps resolve the matter sooner - most of my pendings go through eventually if I email them myself.0 -

Most audio books have an ISBN number so its simply a matter of typing that in the Amazon search box. Of course, if you have a barcode scanner its much easier! :j0 -

Theres no great logic to that and I suspect youve just thrown a bit of money away. Pendings have nothing to do with the price just something wrong with the payments process.0
