I handle books, which I lent to friends and family, some of whom are no longer around, and I think of their hands on the pages with their eyes and minds enjoying the read as did I. Mind you, this is trait, which is the cause of my house being full of clutter.
Ah well: my house, my housework......
Somebody, please, gonna design an icon for "resigned"?
i agree - there are books i would never part with
BUT i found that after we filled the 5 (6 foot tall) bookcases we have room for in our new house that we had loads of books left that we niether wanted to re-read or really could be bothered with keeping - hence the clearance
im now going to weed out teh 1p amazon books and freecycle / charity shop them as we really really need the space (unless anyone desperately wants a box or two or 1p books - they are welcome to collect)

Just to update, Amazon sided with my winging buyer (the one who was moaning about price compared to buying it new etc, and claimed I has mislead him) So he keeps the book and gets his money back. Amazon just like paypal, always side with the buyer!
Still sold 4 books this morning, so feeling a bit better0 -
I can't think of the right words to describe a marking on a book. My flatmate has given my some of her uni books to sell (woo hoo) Most are in excellent condition but 3 or 4 of them have her surname written on not the spine but the opposite edge where you would flick thru the pages. Does that make sense? Not sure if there is a name for that bit.
How should I best describe that?Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
HGLTsuperstar -that really seems so unfair, he made the error not you!0

I'd just say that the lettering is on the page edges....0 -
Cheers for that AT.
That seems sensible, I thought there might have been something more technical that I wasn't aware of. :rotfl:Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
Lol, if there is a technical term for page edges I don't know it, and if there was it might not be understood...........but then again you did say University books, so maybe it would....0

My goodness, that seems outrageous.
How come they get to keep the book - surely you're allowed to ask for it back??? Thieving b*****d!
Can't you ask Amazon where it states that you are not allowed to price a book at more than the "new" price? If someone is ignorant enough not to hunt around to make sure that they can't buy it cheaper elsewhere, then isn't that their lookout? I'm interested to know the rules on this.0 -

Also what happens if like me, you check in on your listings and find a previously out of stock book is now re stocked by Amazon. I could easily have sold my book at the same time Amazon got stock and that would have made my book more expensive than the Amazon one?
Hmm, I don't like the idea that someone gets my books and gets their money back.

surely to find the book they would have to go thro the amazon page clearly stating their cost before they get to the used copies for sale
how ridiculous
i bought a dvd from amazon marketplace, which turned out to be a fake, the seller refused to refund so i did it thru amazon complaints and their email stated i had to keep the dvd in case i had to return it to the seller - its still on the side a month later waiting - tho i guess its not going back now - i expected that if the seler wanted it back then it got returned - obviously not
