Searched the Ikea site and it brings up small cabinets and a chair! Would love a couple of these, can anyone give an exact product description? Many Thanks
ok this is the third time i've tried to reply, for some reason the universe doesn't seem to want you to know about IVAR  :rotfl:
here's the link for the uk it doesn't list most of the products

you really need to go to ikea to see them, ikea's website is horrible as it doesn't list the majority of its products
i believe the full height (7 feet) normal depth (for shelves) upright (side of bookcase) is £8 so you need £8x2=£16 plus 6 shelves@£3=£18 and a crossbrace for support at £2 so for £36 you get a huge bookcase then you can expand so the next time it will be £8 cheaper as you only need one side because they all hook together you may need more or less than 6 shelves but it's fully adjustable so it works well.founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
My first auction was rubbish!!! Was a bit apprehensive so let OH have the card to do the bidding...he was a bit useless to say the least!!! We nearly had four boxes of books for £6 except it came back to him and he was staring off into space so we lost it. Needless to say he did this a few times  so no books were obtained. We bought a couple of random bits to put into the antiques cabinet but nothing special and the box of books on a certain specialist subject I had my eye on went for £170!!!!
When we came out of auction we had a car with a flat battery due to the daft b***er leaving the lights on........NOT a good day at all!!!

Am gutted! OH posted book 1st class last Thursday, said it was too much effort to queue for a COP and just posted it in the box. Buyer has emailed today to ask where the book is as she hasn't received it. So no proof of posting and I'm going to have to issue a refund of almost £18 if it doesn't show by the weekend. Am not happy :mad:I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Thanks HOLsale you're an :A .
Am moving house in 3 weeks and have about 15 boxes of books in the attic that I would rather see on shelves. Makes them easier to find if I want to read them! Will ask OH to take me to Cardiff next time he's off.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

well i must be doing something right today because i've just sold my 3rd item on amazon today! that makes 4 items in 24 hours in total! :T
i've also had 4 swaps requests for my newly listed books, 2 i turned down but 1 of the two i agreed to swap with was a person who'd turned me down last week...still had the book i wanted though so i'm a happy bunny
better yet, the book i swapped for was cheap to buy will be cheap to post and what they send will give me a nice profit... i love this! :Tfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
I posted it 8 days ago and it hasn't arrived (yet) has anyone had to refund a swapee yet? I think that what I'll do is send him a cheque for what the book would have cost from Amazon....is this reasonable do you think?0

speaking of which
i must remember to check each book on amazon before swapping based on the inital value - ive been burnt a couple of times now - by not checking if the book linked from RISI is in actual fact the edition etc that amazon show
oh well - they werent bad books tho - i do try to swap for books that im interested in so if im stuck with them then i can at least get a read out of them
but on the plus side ive swapped for 2 copies of 2 different books and sold all 4 on amazon for a small profit
been checking out my amazon profit, after postage and other costs im in healthy figures that will all help the credit card debtSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
HOLsale wrote:does anyone else get that little adrenalin rush as you sit down at the computer with your books and type in the isbn numbers to see how much you might make off them?
I do! I love it when I get one of those. I can't wait to see whether it is one of my higher value books too.
I had a browse in the city centre charity shops today. SOme of them only seem to stock fiction which in all honesty aren't that interesting on Amazon but I did get a good condition book on death that I have listed today for quite a lot. (Well, £18-ish, it is a lot for me) I got a funny look from the chap in the shop I can tell you! Oh well I'll let you know if it sells.
I was thinking about having a go at local auctions. I'll keep my eyes open in the local paper for future dates. I expect I'll get a little rush of adrenaline if I go there too. I don't know if I can take all the excitement!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
