Hi nutty, good start! more to come hopefully
You can send it 2nd class if you really want to, some of us do and some don't. You need proof of posting just in case it gets lost, if you are willing to pay the loss yourself for a cheap book then you can just put it in the nearest letter box and keep your fingers crossed. If you go back to the first post here and the link through to the 'manual' you will see lots of cheap packaging ideas0 -

I picked up a book from a charity shop (for 20p) around 6 months ago and listed it on Amazon - it sold within 2 hours - brilliant.
I came across the same title in another shop yesterday and ummed and ahhed a bit as to whether to buy it as I had already sold one previously (at 10p I thought it was worth the risk!).
It sold within 2 hours!!!!
They were only 1p listings on Amazon, but I've made a £1 profit! They weren't the only ones listed either.
So, if I see another one - should I pick it up or assume that lightning only strikes twice?
If they are selling that well I'd buy everyone I saw and put the price up a bit - just ask yourself what Richard Branson would do is my motto!0 -
Don't know about you guys but my sales have slowed down a bit and my Readitswapit is ON FIRE!!!!!!
I'm getting two or three a day at the moment. Unfortunately not all have books to my liking (tee hee!!!). I haven't actually browsed through to see what other people have got cos' I've been so busy receiving requests!!!
Anyway keep on truckin everyoneLaughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
Exactly Zoe, I have had almost 50 swapsies so far.
The site itself is snowballing, when HOLsale first mentioned it around 3 or 4 weeks ago there were less than 3000 books on the site and now it's heading towards double that number so there are plenty on offer for everyone.....it's just great0 -

A bit annoyed with my parents - although no reason to be really but mum phoned up tonight and happened to mention they'd been sorting books etc that had been stored in their room over the weekend and currently have a bag to take to her school, a bag for the charity shop and a little pile of things for me - well I was only there 2 weeks ago - wish she'd of got round to it before Christmas as I only see them a few times a year - but anyway - got her to read me the isbns, titles etc of the items she had saved for me and put them all into amazon and all those with loads at 1p/not on there I told her to put in the charity bag, weren't many. Probably about 10 things for me there, including a couple with only 1 item on there :j. She's going to finish sorting through stuff and will go through the rest of the stuff, check stuff in her charity bag etc for me on Sunday night. Probably won't get the stuff for a couple of months but it's nice to know she's thinking of me when she's sorting, and hopefully I'll have sold some of the stuff on there now by then :money:
This selling stuff has even inspired me to open an ebay sellers account  so think I'll try and put some stuff on there as I'm determined to make my £40 by the end of January.
Back to the family thing - might be worth mentioning to family that you sell on amazon - even if you offer to share any profits etc, so if they're doing any spring cleaning you can add some more things to your listsInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

I am soooooo chuffed!!! :j
A HUGE THANK YOU to AT for her step by step guide to selling on Amazon (so simple even I could follow it) and to everyone else for their truley inspiring posts.
I finally bit the bullet last night and listed half a dozen items for sale and I couldn't believe it tonight when I found that 2 items sold already :T
I had been wanting to sell on ebay for ages but was put off by all of the horror stories that I had read (Nigerian scams, non-paying bidders etc), but you all made Amazon sound so easy that I had to give it a go, I am so glad I did.
Only problem now is that my printer has kindly ran out of ink on me and I have to send away for some more as no-one around here stocks the correct one :wall:
Would it be acceptable for me to hand write the Packing slips and address labels?'We can get over being poor, but it takes longer to get over being ignorant'
