Oh no, sorry to hear of your troubles - I know exactly how you feel with the two steps forward, one back thing - I was exactly the same until I cut up the last credit card we could spend on. It's only now, a couple of months later, that I can see real progress in our debt going down and staying down.
As for car insurance, are you able to cancel it and shop around at all? Renewals are usually so much more expensive every year. We find putting £50 a month into a pot (in our case, an e-saver) really helps with those one off bills such as car insurance, house insurance & car tax. If you can afford to do so, it may be worth trying that from now and when it's next due you'll be feeling so much happier that it won't have to go on a credit card.
Good luck with the potential job, will be great if it's not far from you too.
Do you get any of the money from the court outcome? If so, are you able to pay it off on your credit card and then you might feel better about the car insurance slip up?
Hope OH is better soon too!0 -
£34.52 from Quidco is heading my way this month.
As it's money we wouldn't have had anyway, it too is going to become a payment off the credit card...
New balance: £4159.26:j0 -
Another £12 has been received on my Quidco account today, payable this month; so that's another £12 paid off the pesky credit card, which now makes the outstanding balance: £4147.26 :j0

Thanks SkySky x
A bit deflated this afternoon - just costed up the (massively scaled down!) decking area to start our garden and it's gonna cost about £300 just to get all the stuff and do it ourselves - that's just the deck.
It's gonna take us ages to save that on top of everything else in our current financial situation.
I know it would've gone on the credit card if we still had it as I'm desperate to get the garden nice and useable! Good job I cut it up...0 -
Just completed another survey tonight and had enough to transfer £10 to my paypal account. It's going to sit in there for now and become the garden fund!0

Saturday: We posted 2 more ebay parcels this morning and paid the cheque from Music Magpie into our account. I have one more item on ebay, ending in a couple of days, currently bids for £10. :j
We also 'bought' £20 in pizza express vouchers with our £5 of tesco clubcard vouchers on the Tesco clubcard deals website. We'll use this to eat out on my birthday :j - in true DFW style!
I also withdrew the cash for 'everything else/spending money' this month from the bank, so we don't pay by debit card for things other than those budgeted for.
I also got 3 x £2 coins in change from the post office today, so they've gone into a pot to start saving them again. Last time we successfully did that, we ended up with nearly £80 which we banked.
Have also entered more competitions this morning - now back to cleaning the oven.
Happy Saturday everyone x0 -
I've made another sale on Amazon. :j A Cd I won last year has made us £6.40 profit.
I'd really like to put it towards our garden fund, but as it's going into the bank account, I can't really withdraw £6.40 to put in my 'sealed garden fund pot', so I'm going to make an extra payment off the credit card now for that amount. New cc balance: £4140.86.
As above, I've made a sealed pot to save money for the garden. We came so close to giving in and putting it on a 0% credit card, with the intention of paying off so much a month to clear it within the 0% timeframe, but we've done the right thing and decided not to. It's so frustrating and disappointing, but we'll just have to do what we can, when we can. My sealed pot currently has £26 in it and my paypal account has about £17 in it, so we have about £43 of about £400 that we need!I have a couple of household things to list for sale at work tomorrow which should get us about £30 - £35 if sold, and we'll put the car boot money towards it when we eventually do one. I'm also going to use £100 from money in my Isa towards it too. We'll get there; it will just take a lot longer than I would've liked.

One of our household bits has sold at work for £10. :j That's another tenner in the garden fund!
Has cheered me up slightly in the dark mood I'm in this current Monday lunchtime...
We're having car troubles today too which has p*ssed me right off - the car is still under warranty but it's such a hassle getting it fixed, why don't things just work properly like they're meant to?! Having to rely on a lift home tonight and hubby had to get a lift to work too. We bought a new car to avoid problems like this...
Still waiting on my cashback from mobi deal, hope it turns up soon as we really need it to be put in the bank account. We've already had to pay a bill from the account that was gonna cover.
Had a stinking headache too since I woke up this morning... grrr.
Ok - moan over0 -
Cars are more trouble than they are worth sometimes aren't they. I realised over the weekend that I need at least two new tyres on the front of the car, and if we are going to get our caravan out of the storage where it is kept, we need to have it serviced really to ensure everything is working as normal (and not going to carbon monixide us to death while we sleep!), so I need to find about an extra £400.00 this month  I think debtfreesomeday, this may be the kick up the bum I need to get on with fleabay!!!
You need £400.00 for a garden fund - I need the same amount for my car and caravan! Lets see how we do this month! I have just remembered that we don't have to pay council tax this month so that will be £120.00 towards it! :T
