  • Two of my auctions finished on ebay this morning, making £8.09. (Well it's £8.09 I didn't have before!). A third should've finished but I got an email from ebay last night saying they were cancelling the item because I'd listed it wrongly - no explanation, nothing! It's now relisted, as it was before. Reminds me why I hate ebay so much.
  • Finally, our cheque from music magpie has just arrived! Will work out the budget tonight and see if we can afford to use it pay off the credit card or whether it'll have to be kept in the bank...
  • I couldn't wait, I just worked out our budget for next month and it seems we'll have about £120 leftover after paying everything next month (food, petrol, bills, credit cards, insurance/tax savings fund - everything) although other things do seem to crop up when least expected  but I've gone ahead and used the music magpie cheque as an extra payment off the credit card... :j

    Cue drum roll please...

    New balance: £4193.78.

    Hi there
Well done on how you have got on so far. If nothing else you are FAR better than me at sorting out stuff for ebay or Amazon! And also well done on keeping the diary up when not many people have replied.

Sometime diaries just get swept back onto page 2 before you know it, espeically when it is busy.

Good luck with clearing off the credit cards this year

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Thanks guys.

To be honest, it keeps me on track writing in this little diary every day, it really seems to motivate me to keep chipping away at the debts - I'd definitely recommend keeping a diary for anyone who's struggling a little.

  • Pay Day: :j

I've transferred £50 into our e-saver account for the monthly savings towards car/house insurance and car tax, there's a total of £100 in there now as insurance and tax was paid last month.
Credit card billed is paid - £338.99 paid off it so far this week. :j

I need to withdraw £75 cash which will be used for 'everything else' this month - ie., not food, petrol, bills etc. We used to withdraw spending money cash but didn't do it last month and struggled to keep track, so shall be getting back into that habit this month.

Just need to print the budget sheet of tonight for this month, then stick to it!

  • Hi wantabetterlife - yes, although I get excited about pay day now because I can pay big chunks off the credit card and save towards the insurance and tax! How sad is that! :rotfl:
  • Some days I feel that we take two steps forward and three steps back! I really felt this month that I was making good inroads into my debt. The last two months have been the first two months that I have actually made overpayments to my credit cards. I am normally a minimum payment kind of gal :o The nice postie bless him brought me a credit card statement today and £330.00 extra had gone on it! What a stupid muppet I am, I had completely forgotten that the car insurance was last year paid with this particular card and so they decided to just take it again from the same card. I had a low life of balance rate on this card on the remaining £700.00 balance and now that will be messed up because this £330 has gone on at a standard APR - Gggrrrrr!

On another note, I have a "chat" today with a company based in my village about a potential job opportunity - so fingers crossed!

And yesterday the little twit that came into my house to measure up for carpet and stole my mobile phone, changed his plea to guilty when he found out that I had actually turned up at Court and so was fined £500.00 plus £300.00 costs! All fun in my life!!!

Feeling quite guilty actually as I have been telling OH to pull his socks up as he had man flu, I actually think now that he is quite poorly - he is going back to the doctors this afternoon so hopefully they will be able to give him some magic tablets to make him better! :p
