  • Thanks rags x Nice to see I'm not rambling along to myself on here!

Not much to update really. My folks came at the weekend and bought loads of goodies and treats for us. :A They're wonderful to us, they really are. It means our freezer and cupboards are well stocked which will help us out greatly - we won't have to do another shop for a while. :j

Most of my ebay items sold last week, making about £25. I have a few more to list today too. There's just over £30 in the paypal account which I'm leaving in there to make up to £50 before withdrawing and using as an extra payment on the credit card.

I had an email saying my £110 cashback from my mobile phone deal is being processed, so I'm expecting that within the next week. That was going to go on the credit card too but our Gas & Electricity supplier messed up our direct debits and means we owe them £120  so it'll have to go towards that now instead.

We have just over £90 in our account at the moment until payday. We are expecting a phone bill of £72 to come out in a few days (it's a lot this month as they forgot to charge us for all calls since December and we had to pay for a modem with them ) so that should leave us with a teeny tiny bit on the bank account. BUT we're gonna need petrol in the next few days so I'm guessing we'll be slightly overdrawn by the time payday comes along next week. :(

I'm so tired of companies doing things wrong with payment dates/ direct debits etc, resulting in us being out of pocket or messing our budgeting up!

Still no sign of the wii we won either, or the cheque from music magpie...

  • I really must get my !!! into gear about ebaying. I literally have a box upstairs full of stuff that needs listing but I always seem to have bigger or better things to do :o

Nice to have the freezer and cupboards full - do they fancy filling mine up to!

And no, you're not rambling to yourself - we just like you to believe you are;) :rotfl:

  • Hi SkySky - I'm used to it! Spend most of my day talking to myself at my desk at work... :D the rest of the bunch I work with are too miserable to pass the time of day sometimes anyway... and

GET EBAY-ING.. think of all that extra dosh you could have by this time next week... I hate doing it, it's so boring and seems so long winded, but forced myself to do it and about £25 better off :j

Any luck with that mobi deal? x
  • RIGHT - I've listed the last of the things for ebay already. :j

Have also just spent some money. I spent £6.95 on a box of hotel chocolat chocs from a link found on these forums. They're usually £16.95 but have £10 and I got £4 tracked through Quidco too, so cost me £2.95 inc. postage. :D
These are for a friend's birthday in March, she loves these chocolates but they're usually so expensive. I don't like them so they're not at risk of disappearing before they get to her! :EasterBun

I mentioned it to my husband and he decided to tell me in his infinite wisdom that as a company benefit he gets a whopping 40% discount off monthly tarriffs with O2 - that means I can get a really good tarriff with lots of minutes for about £12.00 per month. The method behind my madness is that I can then use this phone to make any daytime calls instead of my landline - I have to call work quite a lot the next day after a shift and the daytime calls really bumps my home telephone bill up so I will save there. I will also give my old phone to one of those places that wants your old mobiles.

I am working tonight, and it is my daughter's birthday tomorrow - OH MY GOD she's 4!!!! and working Thursday night so I will get listing into Turbo lister over the weekend to upload Sunday night.

I think I must be able to find a home for a £2.95 box of chocs, I however, would not have the willpower to not eat them :o . Weight watchers would not be pleased with me!

  • Ah - a fellow weightwatcher too! (Although not going to classes - too expensive :(). Not doing too great at it at the moment either... :o

Sounds like a great deal on the mobi - I'd definitely grab that offer. I tried to see if one of those phone companies wanted to trade my old mobi, but it's so old that no-one would offer any money for it! :o I shall keep it as a spare in case the new one ever decides to stop working.

Hope your daughter has a lovely birthday!

  • This morning I've wrapped all the parcels up for ebay and they're ready to post (I hate that job!), and one of the three I listed yesterday already has bids on it. :j

I did another survey last night earning £1.10 - woo hoo - and nearly have enough to transfer £10 into my paypal account.

Got to pay for ebay postage and petrol today (we're running on fumes at the moment!) so will not be a NSD for me today. We will be slightly overdrawn before pay day but nothing much that I'm going to lose sleep over.

Music Magpie account says that sale has been completed so a cheque should be on the way to me by now hopefully - for roughly £25. I guess if that gets paid into the account in time then we may not be overdrawn after all. :T

As usual, have entered lots of competitions last night and this morning. No more wins for a while but am still hoping!

We should be getting £20 tonight for an item we sold locally too, so that will keep us ticking over until payday finally arrives in a week.
