the letter is from CEL,attached is the original fine & a claim form which says court use only with a total amout of £425.00 the letter from CEL says i can still pay £265.00 before the 16/11/2011

So they are trying to con you into believing they have made a claim or at least that they fully intend to...very very naughty.
A real claim comes direct from the Court and will be properly stamped.
  • i was a bit suspicious when there was no stamp but putting a court date made me think a bit. how long do they carry on with this?

    cheers

A court date? Why not phone up the Court and see if they have a case listed against you that day? Put your mind at rest and then complain about CEL to Trading Standards and the BPA and the DVLa and the OFT and your MP (the list goes on...).:)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Come on ...get a grip.

    READ THE ******** LETTER!!!!

It says they have had a solicitor "draft particulars of claim, see attached'....so it's basically a filled in N1 that they haven't yet sent off [and never will].

So they are not pretending to be the court or that it is from the court.

30 seconds reading saves an awful lot of panic and misinformation.
