I got one but guess what, I actually went to my friends area, parked in her local coop 7pm at night, parked beside her, came out of cafe about 3 hours later (entertainment on), got into our respective cars, I followed her out nose to tail as I had done on the way in. 2 weeks later I get this civil enforcement agency parking fine, and she didnt, this was October, Ive chosen to ignore them for awhile, but I get scared every so often, and then I think well why would I get a fine and not her???? Something is very fishy here. That was the only reason I chose to ignore it initially, she still hasnt heard, could it be because she lives in the chosen area and I dont??? What do you think I should do?? Please any advice is greatly appreciated0

You are taking them far too seriously, Just ignore them and they will go away. Remember there will be some scarey but totally ineffectual letters from made up debt collectors and solicitors. We know they are made up because real solicitors would not touch this with a barge pole.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I received a letter from civil enforcement ltd. yesterday looking for £150 fine. This is my first letter and states I never paid the previous amount so therefore has increased. It doe not state where I was parked... I really do not know what to do. I want to phone them but then I'm not sure if that is also a scam just to get money off me.
Please help,
Lauren x
Hi Lauren, with reference to your post, I too was absolutely furious and shocked when I received a letter from Civil Enforcement with a fine for parking. If it hadn't been for my husband checking the internet and this site, we would have never know and would have paid up. We received around 8 letters in total from Civil Enforcement and the fines and threats increased, we did however IGNORE ALL of the letters and after around 3 months, no further letters were received. If you phone Civil Enforcement there is no answer service only a call selection where it asks for you to enter your credit card details to pay the fine. Letters go unanswered also, we've tried all ways and means to contact these unscrupulous people. A few of my friends also received letters for parking at the same place/time as myself and their letters faded out too. Please, Please, please don't pay these idiots. I'm absolutely furious at the time we have all wasted with this company.0 -

Maybe a name change to "Civil Unenforcement" is well overdue0 -
I had a letter very similar to the ones mentioned above from Civil Enforcement Ltd. My main worry reading the posts above is that when I had the letter, yesterday, I did phone and leave my contact details. They called back this morning but my phone was switched off. Have I spoilled it by replying or should I just ignore them from now on?
My particular case was that I overstayed the limit mentioned on the signs. I didn't see any signs at the time but I've been in touch with Trading Standards today who said that there are signs...somewhere, so they appear to be just within the law...though I intend going back later this week to double check and to take some pictures.0 -

Ignore them and should they phone again then tell them to stop harrassing you with phone calls or communication in any way shape or form. Don't be afraid to tell them that their feeble attempts to get to your hard earned money won't work and that you suggest for them to find honest, ethical and decent employment.0 -
Hopefully you didn't admit to being the driver, but even then no real harm done.
Just don't contact them again & ignore all further written drivel from CEL & Newlyn plc that will be coming thro' your letter box for a while.
Should they return your phone call, simply hang-up.0 -
Another thought Bendigeidfran; can I strongly suggest that you edit your post to exclude the first sentence of the second paragraph as well as the first half of the second sentence.
PPC's are well known to read & monitor these forums & you don't want to give them any ammo that could be used against you.
Pearly11, as you have quoted the post in your reply, can I also suggest you do likewise.0 -
Wise advice to do as Hadeon says. Try and remember not to admit jack, and not identify yourselves when posting. The very few cases we see brought normally come back to some sort of admission somewhere.
I PM'd a new poster a while back to edit his post, he posted I have received 17 tickets from the same company on the same car park! I think even dopey Perky could have worked that one out!
Remember the PPC's wont have to take so much time going to pay the cheques into the bank these days, so they may be doing some extra browsing!0
