    Thx di

We're on a DMP so funds are tight, we never sent the SAR due to the £10.00 fee, so at this stage we just sent a complaint letter asking them to investigate our complaint re the PPI.

We'll have the £10.00 at the end of January for the SAR if it's required.
    Hi Peeps :hello:

Just an update, I sent the complaint letter on 29th December via recorded delivery, however, we've had no reply or acknowledgement from NR, so toady I've checked on track and trace, and there's no details the letter has been delivered.

Dam it, so I have to start the whole process again by issuing the original letter I sent?

The figures for the loan were £12000 borrowed over 62 months with PPI of just under £3000 added to it, seems a bit high considering no unemployment cover and the fact he was 68 when he took it out. Thanks in advance, off to work now.
Did the terms and conditions of the PPI policy state that there was no unemployment cover...?

    Thanks.

I started the loan in Oct and as stupid as it sounds didnt realise it was on a variable rate, my monthly payments started out at £490.29 I know pay Jan 08 £615.26.
The other thing they said on the reply letter was they would give me £2721. back but would take it off the loan, can they do that??

Hi Nick, the PPI element of your loan is 19.67% (same as mine was!!). So 19.67% of your repayments are towards the PPI.;)

The total cost of your PPI is 240 month of 93.42 = 23140.80
The total cost of your loan without the PPI is 94480.80
As you have made 40 repayments of the PPI that would be 3856.80
You have made 40 repayments of the loan being 15746.80

All this is assuming no interest increase as you do not have the dates etc at the moment.

You would be looking at back the 40 months you have paid and then the loan redoing without the PPI.

You sould in effect owe them 98018.00 but again this is with the interest staying the same. You would still owe another 200 months of the loan...and the PPI but when you win with the PPI they have to settle this loan and then redo another one. This would be done without the PPI ...

If you have sent it recorded delivery then you need to call Royal mail customer services and give them the recorded number, they will tell you if it was delivered. Sometimes the track and trace don't work, don't know why.

Call them first because if you used recorded it should have been delivered.

They also have 8weeks in which to respond

If your not in arrears you can request this amount as a cheque.

Is the amount of £2721 the full ppi including 8% interest?

    Hi hun

Before doing all this again hun, give the royal mail a ring, and there is sections/departments on telephone on the royal mail where you read out the account number of the ref tracking number, this should confirm delivery, sometimes I noticed that the site does not disclose this, but I have also checked delivery by contacting companies etc, and asked when.
Try it out if you want to on the royal mail tel number which should be disclosed for personal customers on the site.;)

Good luck and please let us know, cheers.

Boo, who told you not to sign the SAR. It has to be signed and if there are two people the loan/credit is in then both have to sign. Its one letter that really does need a signature.
