l only reaslised in the last couple of days that council tax is a must and takes prority over other debts, so now l know that l'll ring them and beg!! The reason we have to pay the accountant as he does the books, thus showing our yearly income which the council need, they wont go on last years earnings like the working families tax credits do. So at the mo we're kind of stuck as building trade is dire and OH averaging 1 or 2 days a week only. The charities and you ,are all great and l've read a lot of where we stand with dca's and feel much more in control now l know facts and things.

We pay our accountant about 100 per month but I know friends do not have a chartered accountant but use an accounts person that has retired and I understand there are lots out there. Do not know how you pay etc but would you be able to do your own accounts. If you are computer literate there are packages like SAGE which do most of it for you then you only have to transfer those figures onto the self assessment web site. Am sure you have looked into all that but thought I would mention it.

That is my point is it earned income or income. If you retired from work early and got pension or benefits, you would be covered because of the age restrictions and that would still be income:confused: Do not know where we can check this do you:confused:
Perhaps on an application form for credit it says "earning" and "income" and earnings are actual earned income and "income" can include anything coming into the house. This is what i asked Di to check out... we do need to find this out as these companies can get away with saying it was the customer that told us they were earning that money and never said it was actual benefits..if you see where I am coming from here...

I wondered if that was the case with Lloyds and Di's complaint.

I see you point and that would make sense. I do think that this would all come under the miss selling cause a lot of the time and I know I am not meaning Di s case we say what it is they know it will not sell PPI and they try to help us:rolleyes: and put it under income to help us and them:confused:

Its been so long since I have done a set of accounts from scratch but I did it daily and worked in a chartered accountants myself. I think that a retired one would rustle a small sole trader builders up in a couple of days if you have all the stuff ready and neat and in order. Other than that its the Citizens Advice that would be able to help out here...

It's me again, also the council tax didnt get paid because the money was paid into the account and the bank took it all out in charges, having said that they would'nt add anymore charges to that account so that's what made me push for the refund again, then they lowered or OD so the wftc, they just kept to lower the od, that week l had to go shopping round my dad's house!! as we had no money for food. They're not helping at all.

Well I have decided this year that I did not want a Chrissie present and instead I have sponsored a 6 year old child in Tanzania and he is wonderful and I am going to write to him/ I know he will probably not write back but wanted to do something meaningful, it must be my age.
