No its not classed as taxable income... . Why???

I am just wondering that if it is not taxable whether that is covered as income for PPI purposes as per my other post.

On that point another thing I have noticed being secret squirrel is that we were covered through the PPI on our business income if we were working 16 hours per week. The nature of the beast is that you can go two weeks with no work and then work full time for the next two weeks. So surely we were not covered:confused:

So sorry you are having a bad time at the moment and I really hope you get fast tracked. There are people claiming it that do not need to cause they see it as a fast way through but that is wrong cause it stops genuine cases getting through the system. Really hope it works for you. At least your kids have you two and that means so much more than presents. I know they will not realise it at the moments but being there for children is the biggest present we can give them. :T

Saying that Nova had a route around my sofa the other day and I found a couple of pens, some bread sticks, dust and fluff, some peas and half a sausage.

Oh l wish that was me l could have made a meal out of that!!!! (well apart from the pens and fluff!!) Thanks for your support everybody, it means loads X:D

    PMSL and here here maxdp.

This is a genuine case of hardship and it p**ses me off when people ask for fast track and don't really need it. To me fast track should be about what money you have over after paying for your ROOF and it should include all income you have coming into the house. I have asked because of the mortgage business and losing our home etc but not got it (as i know to as the last time I heard from the Firstplus one on 1st December said another FEW MONTHS) but we are safe for a while now as Co-op paid up with their gestures fairly quick...;) . Its sad though when we have to use our money for the mortgage to pay for a house that is decreasing in value daily:eek: . I was always told as long as there is a roof over your head, food on the table and clothes on your back you are ok. The rest are luxuries... nowadays if you look at the "essentials" list on these budgets there is internet, phone, mobile, digital tv... .

We are all programmed to want more I think....

With self employment it usually states that you have to be paying class 2 NI which you can pay even if you do not earn a lot and also working on average 16 hours per week. I would have a look at the terms and conditions of each of your policies as some cover you and others do not.

No he did not have a loan my point being that he had all these benefits that were not taxable but when we split up they were classed as income when he went for a mortgage with his new other half:rolleyes:

So he got a mortgage with benefits... . Some benefits are taxable and others not but I have just looked at the RBS and what is classed as income and apparently you can apply for a credit card and put your income down and include family allowance. I wouldn't think that PPI would cover it as income though...??

    Its all new to me!!

l agree, we havent paid our council tax for 3 months, tried to claim housing benefit but could'nt afford the accountant fee's (OH Self employed) so didnt have this years earnings so they would'nt give it to us, it's like banging your head on a brickwall!
We pay for internet as it's a life line but we dont have sky or anything, just the 5 ordinary channels like in the 'olden days'! well there was only 3 then l think!

In Lloyds it says 16 hours per week not average etc. As self employed one month you can work 240 hours per month next month nothing. It is a rather confusing concept me think:confused:s.

Nova you need to sort the council tax one out quick as that one can be a nasty one...

With regards to housing benefit I am sure that a trip to the Citizens advice might be useful to you and they would most probably give you some help there. We are always here and I really do sympathise with you here. Like maxdp says, your kids will just be glad you are all together..

Lets hope the new year brings you lots of luck..;)
