My loan was taken out with them in 2006 but PPI misold claim was place in July and is now with FOS:rolleyes:
They may be covered by the FSCS if they are not able to pay out on the claim themselves.
I have a claim against Picture who are in Liquidation and the FSCS are dealing with it.DS1 12/10/04

Hi Di
The cooling off period was 14 days I thought it was 30 days, when I tried to cancel after about 25 days I was told I could cancel but I would still have to pay for the PPI as the cooling off period had past, so I didnt cancel it.
The PPI was to cover the car finance if it was written off before the finance was completed, I understood this but once I read a bit about PPI I wanted to cancel but I was past the cooling off period and when they said I'd still have to pay for it I thought I may as well keep it
In this instance would the PPI not pay out for the same reasons as detailed in the template letter such as self employed or medical reasons?
Hi there
Have you come across the terms and conditions of this one yet hun?;)
Going back on medical reasons, my husband would not be covered for his back problem when it comes to PPI, although it would state this in the terms and conditions, as he already had this problem prior to taking out credit.
Now regarding being self employed this will again vary, and I think someone may confirm this for you at some point on here who has been in this situation while being self employed.
Since yesterday, how far have you gone with this hun, just to save me going right back on posts, was you to find the terms and conditions on this?
Cheers;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Howdy all I'm not sure how much detail I'll need to provide, but I'm hoping someone on here can give me a clue of how to proceed with my PPI reclaim as it's taken quite a nasty turn... Basically I have a Graudate loan with Natwest from 2005, with PPI that I thought was quite manhandled onto me so after reading through the site I copied the template letters from this great site in September '08 and applied the bits relevant to my circumstances in an attempt to get it back.
RBS replied fairly promptly at the start of the October saying it would reply in due course in the usual eight weeks. Eight weeks passed and on the deadline (round about the 18th November) they sent a letter back saying, whilst they thought all my points were rubbish (I'm paraphrasing, ha!) at the end they said they would be willing to make a settlement offer of £750 if I concluded the matter. I considered it and decided to accept.
I posted a reply back on Nov 21st signing the consent form and waited... Until today. December 16th I receive a letter from RBS saying " You have a capital and interest loan - the settlement offer you received was sent in error and we retract it. We unreseverdly apologize. We are in the process of recalculating such loans but unfortunately we do not have a time scale on this "
So I'm back to square one. I'm angry that three months have been a waste. I fully intend to pursue this tomorrow with the rep from RBS but please, if anyone knows how to proceed from here I'd love to hear from them
Love Tom x
If any further detail is necessary for someone to advise, I'm happy to provide it. I just didn't want to bog this down with endless ranty detail
Hi Tom
Oh dear, this is bad news, sorry to hear your going round in circles with this hun.
Right as the 8 weeks went by, this is the timescale they are given to respond in full and of course its their error and not yours, I would contact the Financial Ombudsman Service first and explain your situation to them, this may be a complaint or even 2 separate complaints they will be able to investigate on, unless someone stated otherwise.
Contact the FOS here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
There are also complaints forms on that FOS link or they may mention about sending through the post.
If it comes to this by complaining to the FOS, enclose all copies of correspondence to back your case.
Please let us know what they say Tom, good luck hunni.;)

"I fully intend to. Usually I'm the most patient guy but I was truly shocked today. Even if they had turned round in November and rejected my claim having considered all the evidence I could have understood to consider my options, but the fact they said "Yes, we agree to a settlement" and then turn round three weeks later (having already waited eight weeks for a reply) to say "Whoops, we shouldn't have sent that - we don't know when (or if) we will make you another offer" has made me very annoyed.
I'm going to call RBS and demand a full explanation tomorrow, but would people say the FOS is the best way to go?"
contrary to poplualr belief, they will not listen to you unless you ahve exhausted all avenues of complaint with the inital POS. So start the complaints procedure with the company first.0 -

If there is something going on at RBS those organisations will know.
But court or FOS is up to you.
You can call the FSA just for advice and to make them aware what RBS is doing.
Whatever you do keep in touch I am intrigued!DS1 12/10/04

Hi, been reading through and thought you all sound so brilliant you might be able to help me too!
I have 2 store cards and a credit card which all had ppi on until i cancelled it about a year and a half ago. i want to claim it back now as i think it was completely mis-sold-i was a student and not working when i opened them!
i've got copies of my original credit agreements sent out to me, but not a breakdown of how much ppi i paid on any of them-do i need this or do they work this out?
also, one of the store cards was a new look card when i opened it, but was taken over by G E Money, so which one should i write to?
any help appreciated! x0 -

Unless you dare question them!
Thanks for the resposne and thoughts, they are appreciated.
Just want to show that its not the fat bankers that get hit in these situations, its the people at the bottom of the line, normal working class, jsut trying to make ends meet working.
Lots of jobs could be deemed immoral, however people do them.
My point was that there is not always a valid claim, some times consenting adults agree to these policies and then when they dont feel like paying anymore or need some cash out comes the "where there is a blame there is a claim" mentality.
This is what i was trying to relay before the forum police jumped on me.
In response to how i can help asked by another member, use your noggin, i worked in the industry for 4 years, i am aware of the small prints, compliance and legal issues, where companies went wrong, sales lines that had to be ammended as they were misleading.
So i think i CAN help, so please dont assume i am on the side of the banks because that is not the case.
Thank you Credit-Crunched your help and support to help others here will be a great help and will be appreciated.
Unfortunately, my husband lost his job just days before Xmas last year this was on 21 Dec 2007, where he was one of 400 thrown into the scrap heap at the steelplant where he worked for many years, they were not paid as the place went into administration, it was instant dismissal to the whole 400 of them, as soon as they entered the plant they were all marched back out again by the administrators, everything had to be claimed through the receivers etc, which had taken about 2 months for the first part payment, as the redundancy were paid out in dribs and drabs.
I do know how you feel and of course its not nice and it seems like the main of us are affected by this.
My husband did find another job in Feb 2008 - again the company had to let go due to a loss of a big contract, he then found another but then came down with depression which had stemmed from the big job loss the year last Christmas.
Again himself and about 200 others are out of a job again, the way its going he will not have the standard 2 page CV....., but must just keep going and trying.
We have 2 children and one of those has special needs, we like most of us on here have mortgages etc which have not been easy making claims on these due to hubby being in and back out of a job again, my husband when he worked at the steelplant practically lived there and adored the job but again due to what happened its really pushed him back again and has affected the whole family, it has not been easy.
Sorry this has been so long, and I know you will understand how we are affected about these recent issues, credit-crunch/recession etc.
And just wanted to let you know a bit about myself.:D
I hope that something comes up for you job wise too, good luck.;)
Again thank you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I know what you mean about people at the bottom - that's why I lost my job. Last in, first out. Unfortunately all I hear at the moment is doom and gloom and have heard of entire offices in my profession being put on consultation and whether they'll keep their jobs or not. A horrid situation for anyone to be in, but, yes, it always hits hardest with those who have the least.
And no, no one thought you were on the side of the Banks - we all need them, they clearly need us and no time ever more so than now.
Any input you have to offer - and it will often be to people in your own situation now (because like redundancy, PPI failure often hits those who need it to work the most) will clearly be valued by everyone on here.
Don't think we're all a bank-hating bunch. We're not! I work for one....................................for now (who knows what the next year or so will bring for my firm!)Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0
