The letter has gone0

Hi. I am hoping someone can give a little advice please. I am thinking of claiming PPI money I have paid on a secured loan I have (I know - learnt the hard way that this is not the way to go). The loan has been going for 3 years now, and I think it was mis-sold because I was led to believe that it had to be taken on to get the loan. However now that it has come to 3 years I have recieved a letter saying that I am eligible for a no claims bonus (£2000) which I think is part of the PPI paid back before the insurance finishes after 5 years (I'm not sure). There would be another payment due next year and the year after (but for not as much). I am now slightly worried that if I start sending letters demanding all my past payments for PPI that they could get obstructive and refuse both that and withdraw the no claims offer. I have no idea of the position I am in with this really. Know it sounds silly but part of me thinks I could take this payment and not bother with fighting them for the rest, but I suspect I could claim back a lot more.
Anyway, really sorry to go on, but any information would be lovely. Thank you in advance0 -

Cool, I take it you mean the 2nd letter to remind them about the first letter?
As some will give you the opportunity to write to them again and or as you know mention the FOS procedures etc.
Sorry but didn't think earlier when posting back to you as doing stuff at home as well, but if I had thought you could have filled in 2 FOS complaint forms, one for the FOS and a copy of it to send to HFC to make them aware your now going to take the opportunity to have this investigated by the FOS, this way HFC may even reconsider quicker and hopefully with a favourable response, knowing that a complaint has also been sent to the FOS.
You can still do that now if you wanted to as they did also give you this option.;)
Good luck

Hi there
Right hun, if you feel you were mis sold for any particular reasons then yes you should be entitled to reclaim on this.
However is the terms and conditions state your payouts they should not let that get in the way of your reclaiming on the PPI as they would be going against their own rules if you know what I'm saying.
Check the link out here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will come across some useful PPI information and reasons of mis selling, there is also a template on the link you can use to help guide you, but try to write in your own words to back your case and obviously add your own reasons for why you believe you were mis sold.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full, another letter maybe required depending on what sort of response you receive on the first letter.
If you let us know the outcome of this we can then help guide you to the next step.;)
Post your complaint by recorded post for your proof of posting and to keep a check on the 8 week timescale they have.
If you have not heard anything at all by the full 8 weeks then just move on to the Financial Ombudsman service in order for them to investigate the complaint for you.
But let us know and we will help you step by step.
Good luck;)

Hi there and welcome.
Right then hun, the best thing to do here then is check on this link here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
There is some useful PPI information and reasons for mis selling and also a template letter to help guide you, but add your own reasons and add as much info as possible to support the complaint.
You write to the actual finance company who arranged the loan/ppi and not the lender, not unless of course the lender had arranged it.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full, if you post up when your mother-in-law hears, we can help to move on to the following step, with a bit of luck though it will be a success first time round.
If the company does not reply at all by the full 8 weeks they are entitled to, then if eligible move on to the Financial Ombudsman service, we will take it from the response and/or from the 8 weeks they have.
Post by recorded delivery for evidence of posting and keep a track on the 8 weeks timescale from on the day they receive the complaint, this can be checked out on the "RoyalMail website" Tracking.;)
Please let us know the outcome of this thanks and if you require further help here just yell. Good luck.

Grichardallen wrote: »Well I sent them my first letter off with my £1 postal order (recorded delivery) to the Sheffield finance branch, I also put the date on and in bold underlined righting put 12 working days to send me my information under section 77 of the consumer credit act.
I did the bold underlined thing like they would do me if a missed a payment:rotfl:
Anyway that was sent on the 29th of Nov, Therefore today is the last day! I will be ringing tomorrow if nothing comes through the post.
Who do I threaten them with?. Give it another couple of days though cause of the Christmas post and I will try and find this out.

Hi everyone,
after long consideration i have finally decided to reclaim my ppi form Capital One and Adams Card (Creation Financial Services Limited) The problem is i do not know when the Payment Protection was bought in both cases. I don't keep the first few statements for the Capital One card (funny i found a letter from them stating PPI will be free of charge from September 2007 but still get charged) So my questions here are what should i put as a start date for the PProtections. Can they refuse to pay it back if i don't put the correct date (if i put as a start date the day i got the card but the PPI was purchased later)
Sorry if sounds too complicated. Any advice much appreciated.0 -
